About
Mystery Valley Golf Club encompasses 230 acres of gently rolling land that ranges from dense forests of towering Georgia pines to grassy meadows covered in acres of colorful wildflowers. Mystery Valley is known for both the beautiful scenery on the course itself and the stunning views from the elevated tees. There are two lakes and a pond that dot the course, coming into play on three holes. At just over 6,700 yards, the layout features some long holes but it will also test your short game with strategically placed bunkers around the fast, medium-sized greens. There is an interesting variety of holes including several winding par 5s and the watery and treacherous 15th hole, which is considered one of Atlanta's most challenging par 4s. The more challenging elements of Mystery Valley Golf Club are balanced by the generous, player-friendly fairways.

Solid County Course
This course presents well and is generally in good shape. It has potential to be better, but I doubt it will improve beyond its current status (which is fine) since it is owned by Dekalb County and is likely operated on a tight budget. That said, the only rough parts of the course were the bunkers. The greens were fine but were somewhat inconsistent in terms of speed and surface. The clubhouse is very dated and the carts always seem like they are about to run out of juice, but I was told the new cart lease begins in early 2022, so things should improve on that front.

Nice course tucked away in Lithonia
Mystery Valley is a very solid golf course, especially for the price. The layout was excellent, it has wide fairways but it is still challenging, and there's plenty of tee box choices so it plays at a great distance. The staff was all very friendly, and they had hot dogs and snacks at the turn which are always very welcome. My only complaints are that basically all the bunkers on the course are hard as rocks, and the tee box on 11 is more like a sand trap than a tee box, but for $36 bucks its a good deal

Perfect course for fun, relaxed golf
Compared to everything else I have been playing in the Atlanta area, this course is flat with wide fairways and straightforward looks at most shots. There’s a great blend of dogleg holes and other challenging features, but overall the course isn’t unreasonably difficult like most courses having valleys, lakes, and huge hills all over the place. It was just fun. Fairways are in great shape. Probably 12 of the greens where in great shape to slightly slow. The rest were kinda grainy, course, and fuzzy; playing slower and bouncier than the rest of the greens on the course.

Great experience, played as it payed.
I snagged a tee time for 2 at 10:57am on a Sunday for $15/person, so this course was EASILY worth the money. Most other deals I see here are for the upper $20s or low $30s, and I’d say that’s a very fair price. Biggest downside was the bunker quality. Biggest upside was how sprawling the course is; a lot of Atl courses try to squeeze holes side by side, but this course really kept the holes separated. Hardest part is the length of the course. Easiest part is the how open and wide it is. You won’t get a championship experience here, but you’ll get exactly what you pay for. Oh also, pro shop prices on merchandise was cheapest I had seen anywhere! $60 for a Nike pullover with the course name on the chest! Also didn’t see a bev cart, but I never look for those anyway.

Great course. Traffics a little slow
Would benefit from having a Marshall to keep the pace of play going. Too many people don’t know how to wave someone through if they’re taking too long! Great course otherwise.
