Mystery Valley Golf Club
About
Mystery Valley Golf Club encompasses 230 acres of gently rolling land that ranges from dense forests of towering Georgia pines to grassy meadows covered in acres of colorful wildflowers. Mystery Valley is known for both the beautiful scenery on the course itself and the stunning views from the elevated tees. There are two lakes and a pond that dot the course, coming into play on three holes. At just over 6,700 yards, the layout features some long holes but it will also test your short game with strategically placed bunkers around the fast, medium-sized greens. There is an interesting variety of holes including several winding par 5s and the watery and treacherous 15th hole, which is considered one of Atlanta's most challenging par 4s. The more challenging elements of Mystery Valley Golf Club are balanced by the generous, player-friendly fairways.

May or may not return
They were doing work on the course and set up temporary greens. Essentially using a small area on the fairway and calling it a green. Problem was, the grass wasn’t flat, like normal greens. And the cup holes were not crisp and we all missed several putts.
Course layout is good. Staff was excellent. However I may or may not return because of the distance from my house. I’m sure today’s course conditions aren’t the norm. Hopefully when the normal greens are in play it’s much better.
Maintenance
Course maintenance was a disaster. “Greens” in the middle of fairways and multiple single holes condensed in two holes that were practically chipping practice. Would need a much bigger discount to play again.
Mystery Valley Golf
Course was in great shape except for the greens. Majority of holes had temporary greens. Pace of play was fast but not rushed. Overall a great day.
Call before you book!
As of 6/28/25, all 18 holes have a temporary green. The course layout is a lot of fun and not too difficult if to spray the tee shot some like I do. But the temporary green made it a lot shorter and frustrating when I didn’t know before I booked the tee time. Staff was very nice.
Temp Greens
Would have liked to have known ahead of time about temporary greens. Should never be $50 for temp greens.
Maybe wait a while on this one.
Temporary greens
Temporary greens and one closed hole. If you want to get some swings in and practice chip-putting it’s a good deal. If you want to play a serious round look elsewhere until the greens are back. Temp greens are not greens but flags in the fairway.
Staff here and at sugar creek are great!!
Course has fallen apart. Under construction
Suggest avoiding. Temporary greens everywhere w and the fairways haven’t been mowed in some this me. There was no note on Golfnow about this when booked. Ruined what was otherwise a good Father’s Day due to this surprise.
Sandy Greens.
The greens were more like bunkers as the contained more sand than grass. Two of the greens were in such bad shape, they stuck pins in the fairway in front of the greens to hit to. It was take an automatic two putt day. To be fair to the public, Mystery Valley should put a warning on their website stating that their greens are currently unplayable.
There is no grass on green
Course is in rough shape
Let me start by saying Mystery Valley was one of my favorite courses - an unknown gem. I havent played there in about a year so I was excited when I was invited to go out there for a round by a friend. Unfortunately this course is in super rough shape. The greens have no grass. They are completely unplayable. Condition wise it was the worse golf course I have ever played on - and Im not a golf snob by any means. Hopefully they get this course fixed up - its a nice layout.
Need work
Course had about 6or more temporary green other had more sand than grass.
Terrible Conditions
With the exception of the two holes that had temporary greens in the fairways, these by far the worst greens I have ever seen or had the displeasure of playing. The greens are dead and have more sand than grass. Absolutely terrible.
awful shape
Greens had not been punched...They just spread sand on them and there was NO GRASS on the greens, just sand. Awful putting conditions
