Mystery Valley Golf Club encompasses 230 acres of gently rolling land that ranges from dense forests of towering Georgia pines to grassy meadows covered in acres of colorful wildflowers. Mystery Valley is known for both the beautiful scenery on the course itself and the stunning views from the elevated tees. There are two lakes and a pond that dot the course, coming into play on three holes. At just over 6,700 yards, the layout features some long holes but it will also test your short game with strategically placed bunkers around the fast, medium-sized greens. There is an interesting variety of holes including several winding par 5s and the watery and treacherous 15th hole, which is considered one of Atlanta's most challenging par 4s. The more challenging elements of Mystery Valley Golf Club are balanced by the generous, player-friendly fairways.

Not worth the money

This course has gone down tremendously over the last few months. The greens are in bad shape and pace of play is an issue. Also I was in the middle of a game and a staff member tells me the carts have to be returned now it was still plenty of daylight and I had 3 holes to play. I will not be coming back here no time soon. People hanging out in the parking lot drinking and smoking weed.

Good value

First time playing. Loved everything except green conditions. Every chip or approach shot rolled right off.

Poorly Managed, Poor Conditions

Poor management made this a horrible experience. The worst part: we tee’d off 25 mins late (overbooked) and then we were kicked off at 6pm with no warning. We were unable to finish, purely because of they delayed our start. The staff was rude and unprofessional throughout.

Other issues: carts were dirty and broken. Also not enough carts. Meanwhile members hang in carts in the parking lot smoking cigars while players wait for one to play with. They let 5-somes play here, too, making it even slower. No rangers pushing pace of play. Greens were beat up, holes poorly cut, with caps over old holes. Everything else was soggy. Tees sandy and uneven.

I am a life long golfer and I’ve never posted a review before, much less a negative one. Find real pros to turn this failing operation around.

Pin Positions

Some of the Pin Positions are COMPLETELY UNFAIR, seriously. Pin on 2 front...Pin front 6, 14 front left, putt to hole can stop short by inches and roll past where you originally putted from, Pin on 17 front right absolutely ridiculous, you can make a decent putt, it can roll off the green and down to 18 tee box..I'm a 5 handicap, those things just don't happen... so point being who ever sets the pin has zero idea what they are doing...ZERO..don't get me wrong it's a fun course but guys you have to do better at setting pins..hate to seem whiney, but it's the truth..whoever runs the place needs to be proactive..IT CERTAINLY SLOWS DOWN PACE OF PLAY 100%

Great day

Got paired up with a twosome of similar skill level. Played from the whites, but moved up a couple times when we felt the whites were too far back. Course was in pretty fair condition, considering winter play and recent rain. Had a great day.

Greens coming along well

I played here about a year ago right before they replaced the greens. The new greens look for overall with a few still having some patch spots. They need to get some of the tee boxes in better shape. Staff is friendly, course layout is fun. I'll continue to play here on a regular basis.

Greens Suck

Amazing that the greens are this poor, considering that they renovated them just last year. Yes they needed mowing and smoothing, but worse was all the bare spots.

Tee times were “spaced” 5 minutes apart. We were waiting on the twosome ahead of us on almost every shot.

If you plan to walk the course or qualify for the senior rate, do not use Golf Now. They won’t give you the walker’s rate unless you use their web site or call. Or maybe they will. I guess it depends on who’s running the cash register that moment? I didn’t get the rate, but my buddy did.
