Stone Mountain Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf that are a part of Stone Mountain Park, which is one of the Southeast's most popular attractions. The Lakemont Course winds around the beautiful Stone Mountain Lake through forests of Georgia pines and hardwoods. John LaFoy, a native of the state, designed the golf course. He incorporated his signature mounding and dramatic bunkering, which is enhanced even further by the wildly undulating terrain. The lake is more prominent on the front nine where water comes into play on six holes. The back nine still features water on four holes, but there are more rocky outcroppings, providing different but equally stunning scenery. Stunning mountain views can be enjoyed from every hole and golfers will also be able to glimpse the famous Confederate memorial carving featuring Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, and Stonewall Jackson.

Great staff

Incredible design with great views of Stone Mountain. Friendly and helpful staff. Pace of play can be slow. Rarely see a Marshall on the course. Worth the wait though.

Great design bad condition

Hit 11 greens in 14 holes and only made 1 put. Picked up after first putt each hole due to the green condition. Only played 14 holes because the group in front of me would not allow a single to play through. Got fed up and left. Beautiful surroundings interesting layout bad condition.

Could Use Some Work

Love the elevational changes of the course but the greens are super slow and some of the holes are just plain weird. This course is not nearly worth the price they charge.

Enjoyable experience with outstanding scenery

If this course was closer to $60-$70 to play, it would be my go-to course on the NE side of Atlanta. The price is a little steep at $100 but for an annual golf this was a great course. They also have Stone Mountain park surrounding the course and places to camp if you want to make a full trip out of it. Beautiful waterfront to start then ends with some open wooded holes.

Play the Stonemont course instead

The greens were very bumpy. Combination of not being trimmed rectory and lots of ball mark divots that were not repaired. My understanding is the priority at Stone Mountain is to prioritize the maintenance of the Stonemont course. So I would recommend you prioritizing that course with your money.

Sold me tee time when course closed

The course is closed, you sold me tee time and even worse, I cannot find a way to contact you or asking for a refund except for this review channel. Miserable

Overpriced...otherwise a solid track.

I have played the Lakemont Course at Stone Mountain many times and it is a great track with great views and good layout...but $90-$100 is WAY overpriced for how the conditions were. Lots of patchy parts, hard/dirt areas and not great tee boxes. $100 in metro ATL is top tier public tracks. This needs to be in way better shape to be that price.

Nice layout, BUT.....

Great layout but course conditions do not support the price paid. Also, along with paying a premium fee to play, I had to pay $20 to get into the park. You would think there would be an exemption for golfers. Unfortunately I think this is "smoke and mirrors" not disclosing the permit fee upfront. If I had not prepaid I would have made a U-Turn exit out of there. Never again for me. Plenty of other nicer places to play for less $ without getting hoodwinked.
