Lakemont at Stone Mountain Golf Course

Nice course. Greens looked like they had a disease. They were in the process of fixing them. Fairways were good. Got behind a group that was slow, which caused the whole round to be slow.

The greens are TERRIBLE! The service was insincere, and programmed! I am very disappointed with this golf course. I would have a hard time booking a round here if it was free!

The first hole had us thinking we were in for a great round of golf. The greens and fairways looked great. But as the round continued we fell victim to the first cut roughs not having been mowed. A couple of my buddies lost balls that were a foot off the fairway. Multiple greens were black and were like putting on glass, which is understandable to a degree because of this heat, but some of the other greens were in GREAT shape and were rolling very very slow. Impossible to keep consistency throughout the round. If the can trim up the rough and fix the greens, we'll definitely be back.

Beautiful layout and you cannot beat the scenic views on this course. However, the greens are in terrible shape (at least 13 out of 18 of them). Impossible to read breaks and judge speed when ur putting through mud. There are plenty of courses within 20 miles for MUCH cheaper that you are better off playing.

Front 9 more challenging than the back with water and doglegs, but back 9 very enjoyable as well. Course in great shape except for 2 greens on the back side which appeared to be diseased; very little grass and very patchy. Rough can be difficult - ball sits down and sometimes hard to see. Tree lined fairways. Enjoyable round if you keep your ball in the fairways and avoid rough and trees. Beautiful scenery through out the course. A real bargain at the weekday senior rate.

PROS: Friendly staff, beautiful views on the front nine, plenty of water coolers on the course, beverage cart came around approximately 4-5 times

CONS: Overpriced, must pay an additional $15 to enter Stone Mountain, difficult starting hole to start the round, there were multiple greens that were absolutely terrible (bumpy, diseased, black/brown color in spots, and patchy/missing grass)

Not a bad course overall; however, for the money and the condition of the greens, I am not inclined to return anytime soon...

It's not green. Kind of under sewer. Green have to remove. Even you must money back green fee and park entrance fee. I played with my big customer. He came from Korea. I was so sorry to him. Smell so bad on the green. You have to check before booking or staff have to tell us. Anyway so so bad. Thank you

This course has a great layout and somewhat challenging. A third of the tee boxes are in poor condition, most of the fairways are good, but the greens are in very bad condition. Only three greens are worth getting off the cart for. Staff placed the condition of the greens on the weather, but other courses in the area with similar grass are great condition.

I love to play these courses. The course is kept up very well. The only problem is that they have a problem with some of their greens. I go at least ten times a year. If you have the chance to go I would. I love the fact that it's like my back yard course.

The course is in good shape except for the greens. Greens need to be conditioned and black mold removed. Very hot and no breeze from the lake at all. Take plenty of Gatorade with you.

No Marshall out there to keep play moving. Round more than 5.5 hrs. Some greens in good shape, others terrible. Won't go back for quite some time.

Greens were aerated. Staff did not mention about greens conditions and charged full price.

Loved this layout much better than their Stonemont course.
Greens were slower than the one's I typically play, but they recently punched them and were letting them grow out just a bit. Fairways were being treated, as well, but still very playable. Undulation from tee to green. Not much on the greens themselves. Fairways are rolling with interesting doglegs. There is an eyeful of beautiful landscapes to be had. Bring your camera!

Front desk staff at Stone Mountain always pleasant and reasonable. Course conditions over the past year have been challenged to the point where much of both courses were unplayable. Due to time constraints, we decided to play at SM which always moves well. Do not get me wrong, this is not Augusta and there are patches of fairway which are missing, but all in all, the course was very playable and in better condition than imagined. Greens were the biggest surprise and were in very good shape. Give it a shot if you have given up on SM as I initially had. Yes, park entry should be reimbursed, but find a hot deal and parking pays for itself.

I have lived in Atlanta for 18 years and had never gotten an opportunity to play this course before. I really enjoyed playing Lakemont. It is a very challenging course from the back tees. One par 3 was 270 yards, against the wind with a 250 yard carry over water! The fairways & greens were a little spotty in places...but the views made up for any imperfections! The pace of play was great - our twosome teed off on a weekday morning and we finished in a little over 3 hours. GolfNow "Hot Deal" makes playing this course really affordable!!

back nine is okay but the front nine is in poor condition -- no grass in fairways - fungus growing on the greens - several greens had goose feces and feathers close to the hole -- the front 9 is very scenic but you can't enjoy it due to the course conditions

Course was fine, only got to play 9 holes because of the weather (storming)
