Improvements are happening
My observation of the course from tbox to the greens:
Tboxes: Yes most have little to no grass.. Could be the plan to get rid of weeds and reseed or resod
Fairway: From what I can tell work is in progress.. rolling pretty fast and this could be a good thing or bad thing.. From tbox on #5 golf buddy got to top of hill ball rolled the way to right side around the greens.. He was saved by the ball was hit in the middle!! Fast fairway at Southland is going to be fun. I can’t wait until May/June to see beautiful fairways!!
Bunkers: Most have sand.. Our public golf rule is to pick up your ball ..rake..place ball back in sand.. hit.. rake.
Greens: They donot paint them in winter/fall so true evaluation .. After May/June but they are playable and have a good roll!
Good golf course with potential
Southland golf course is a good course that will present challenges to golfer at any handicap. The friendly staff makes the course a great place to hone your skills and enjoy this great game.

Where’s the grass
No grass on the tee box was interesting. Course doesn’t drain well. Course layout is solid tho.

Great Course for the Price around Atlanta
Definitely a great way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon. Staff was very accommodating to us being a few minutes late. I think we got unlucky, stuck behind a very slow group, but they seemed inexperienced and it was not a big deal. Some of the bunkers turned into water hazards due to rain, and some of the greens were not in great shape, but for the price it was a great experience.

Not Bad
Greens were in good condition. Bunkers need work. Course harder than what you would think

Fun Course, not in great shape though
The course is challenging and was a lot of fun. The greens were in pretty bad shape but still had a good time despite that. Pretty course that was very challenging
