The best thing is the perfect greens. The fairways are horrible as well as the bunkers.

Southland is a fun track considering the pricing. Tee boxes and bunkers are a bit rough in spots, but the greens are remarkably nice. I really like the course design.

The placement of the driving range is...unique.

It was a last minute booking so I couldn’t beat the price. They do a horrible, horrible job of staggering tee times making the pace of play atrocities. Luckily, the course Marshall is really, really good about allowing folks to play through because I like to play alone sometimes. When I was trying to check in, I had to sit and wait for about 5-10 minutes while the clubhouse manager took a personal call trying to figure out where a package was so that was unfortunate. At EVERY course I’ve played at, the keys were always in cart, not at this place. They give you a receipt, write your tee time on it, and they send you outside. I was out there waiting for about 5 minutes and then I went back into the clubhouse to ask who I was supposed to be looking for and he kind of rudely told me to wait outside. The greens are in great shape but that’s about it. I gave this course a try Twice but I’ll never be playing again. Mystery Valley is close so that’ll be my place from now on.

Great tract...always enjoy playing it. Greens were In good shape, however, a little slower roll than I prefer.

I have played this course many times. A few years ago it was getting much better. Yesterday was not the case. Weeds in most fairways. No sand in bunkers. Several bunkers had weeds in them. The greens were decent but needed cutting. If conditions do not change, I doubt I will return.

Challenging layout. Several hidden greens. Driving accuracy is a must. Traps could use some attention, weedy and rocky. I would play it again to hone my game.

Cups are no longer upside down so you could remove the flag if you wanted to, but we did not. They still have almost most sane in the bunkers which makes it very difficult to get out of them.

Pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course. The greens are awesome. Better than many other courses that charge twice as much. The fairway is decent as well. They have chosen to spend maintenance money on greens and fairway only. There is no sand in bunker, tee box is a mess, so is cart path and signage. But I'll come back, because layout is interesting and the greens are manicured.

Nice coarse but the lies are too tight. Some holes have too many stones within the fairway. Needs more grass. Today, they put granules on the Green’s that caused all of my putts to be way off. I have played this coarse under better conditions.

I’ve golfed all around the metro and this was a great find. The greens were pristine and the course is very player friendly. Without a doubt one of the best values I’ve found in a few years.

Staff was amazing. Great guy and very friendly.

Clubhouse was the only negative about the place. There was an empty ballroom/bar/lounge that looked rundown.

Carts were nice and course was great and well maintained. The views of the lake and Stone Mountain were beautiful.

Would recommend!

Played my best round of golf ever. It’s a great course for a beginner like myself.

I have played the course several times, but for the money the course need some minor maintenance; bunkers are overgrown (unplayable), dead spots throughout all fairways, and the greens are extremely slow(could use a cut&roll).

Today's pace of p;lay very good.Wonderful value. This course isn't too tricked out but does make you aware of the value of course management. Lots of elevation changes and contours to deal with.. Fairways and tee boxes could be cut more often. Bunkers are hard pan when dried out. Loved the greens today. True rolling and pin placements make approach shots to the correct side of the hole critical. Well worth the drive and will be back .

The tee boxes are full of weeds, most of them are bald without any grass, the bunkers haven't been raked in months, the fairways are full of many kind of weeds and areas around the greens have not been mowed down. The Greens are in decent shape - ONLY POSITIVE!

I have played here many many times over the years and atleast 2-3 times in the last few months, bit after the last round yesterday, I WILL NOT be playing here for long long time. I was informed that the current owner is not willing to spend any $ on regular maintenance needed and expects patrons to just keep coming back. Not happening for most avid golfers as we all have plenty of other good courses to choose from!!
