First time back since 2020…things aren’t going well
This course was a solid alternative for those that play Atlanta city courses that shut down during Covid. It has gone majorly downhill since then. And it makes sense now that there were so many tee times open when I played.
No water jugs on the course
Restrooms out of order
No sand in sand traps
Greens rolling about at a 5
Fairway and rough were freshly cut, but is about 90% weeds.
Tee boxes are rock hard, even plastic tees easily snap
And why there is no pedestrian bridge before the green on 8 is beyond me. It’s a dumb hole to start with, but for those that layup you basically have to drive to the green and walk back 125 yards. Or you can try to cross the creek, which I don’t recommend after I did and slipped on a wet rock and fell on my butt.
Fire ants
I usually like this course but this time I was addressing my ball in the first fairway and got eaten up by fireants. Very painful and I am still swolen up. Need to take those guys out.
Pretty fun and enjoyable
Was very skeptical at first since it was my first time playing here. However, it was actually quite fun and was in decent condition. The fairways and greens were great and much better than I expected. There are some tee boxes that needed to be worked on since they felt like concrete underneath the grass (in some cases, dirt) and the bunkers were just pits of hard dirt. The cart path was also in rough shape so be ready for a bumpy ride. The turn just continues on from the 9th to the 10th immediately, so no clubhouse stops there. With that being said, I’d advise eating a good meal beforehand or bringing some snacks, otherwise you’d end up starving like my buddy and I. Overall, I enjoyed my round and the back 9 had some really great views. If you can play here for under $45, I’d definitely give it a try.
Sunday Greens
Most recently played on a Sunday with an 8:20 tee time. Pace of play was great all day, had to wait to tee off a bit late but after that it was great. Fairways need some work and a few tee boxes need some grass. Greens are in great shape. Our group left several putts short, I'd advise to shoot for a foot past the hole unless its going downhill.
No real amenities out side of golf. Only able to hit irons/wedges on the range.
Needs TLC
I felt the greens and fairways were in decent shape. Tee boxes need a lot of work as well as the bunkers. For the price there are probably better values in the area.
Excellent greens
I gave this course another try and was glad I did. The greens were in excellent shape, and most fairways were good. A few tee boxes need some work, and the traps need sand, but I was told it's on the way. The layout is good overall, with a couple of weird holes. I will play there again.
Terrible customer service
Very poor .. course in bad condition, staff is rude. Wanted to charge me another $15 for a cart, even though I paid Golf Now in full.
Posted Tee Times That Aren’t Available
Drove 40 min after booking a tee time for them to tell me they closed early for the day. I even called the pro shop beforehand to confirm that they were open but nobody answered. Guy in the pro shop wasn’t helpful at all and didn’t seem to care. If you don’t have tee times available then don’t post them online as open. Update your system lazy people
Personal property return
I left my phone, credit cards,&money on the cart,it was storming bad,we were running to get out of the weather, once to the car,I realized I had left my phone, went to the clubhouse,it was closed.the next morning I returned to retrieve my items to be tod first they hadnot fnd my items, than they want t the cart room and returned wih my items saying they were turned in that morning, all of my 💰 was missing $88,8 of which,I have since I returned from nam.i know their policy, honestly, i am just saying.
Needs some work
This course needs an upgrade. Have played other comparably priced courses in the area that are much better overall. Person in clubhouse was very friendly and got me going right away. Course layout overall is interesting. However, it needs a good bit of work. Sand traps have rakes, but no sand. Fairways through the greens are pretty decent and greens are in nice shape and roll well. Cart paths are not good and overall feel of the course if "old".
On life support
leaking sprinkler heads near at least 4 greens. sand-less barren bunkrs. cart paths breaking up. needs lotta fixing. greens actually pretty decent otherwise it would be total waste. i wouldn't go back.
A course so ratchet it's not even in the GHIN handicap system
The pros:
Good layout, decent greens, friendly staff, new carts
The cons:
Bunkers are garbage. Fairways are hard has a rock. Tee boxes are worn out. They haven't moved the pins in a year and as a result holes are collapsing (it does make putting easier), cart paths are crap. No drinking water on the course, no beverage cart, and the turn is nowhere near the clubhouse. Fresh cut grass everywhere so you can easily lose your ball in the fairway. Basically what everyone else has said in other reviews.
Also, don't bother trying to enter your score into the GHIN handicap system as it doesn't recognize this as a "golf course." I can see why.
