Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club
About
Formerly known as Poplar Creek Country Club, the club was transformed into the Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club in 2011. Besides just the name change, the design itself was dramatically reinvented. Fifteen holes were completely redesigned but the golf course's most memorable holes were left untouched. Bunkers and fairways were reconfigured and fescue was planted to provide more depth and definition. To make the course even more challenging, new lakes were also added. The golf course is definitely a shot maker's layout that rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategizing. The final three holes are considered by many locals to be the toughest finishing trio in all of Illinois. It begins with an uphill par 4, followed by the longest par-3 and par-4 holes respectively. The Bridges of Poplar Creek C.C. offers a round that will challenge even the most avid golfers.

Great course to play if your looking for some challenge . Brought a friend who golfs in the 70s and he fell in love with the course . Lots of water with some challenging fairways . A must play if your in the neighborhood .
Return Visit on Holiday Weekend
After playing here during the early spring in much cooler temperatures, I was ready to come back and experience this course again with warmer weather conditions. While this course isn't very long and I should likely be playing from the tips, I opted for the gold/black tee combination which plays just over 6200 yds.
The staff within the pro shop was very friendly, but unfortunately the pace of play was much slower than I prefer but about average for most weekend rounds at about 4.5 hours. I was allowed to play as a single, but unfortunately I knew I wasn't going anywhere quickly as there were multiple foursomes ahead of me. To make the most of the slow conditions, I spent about 5-10 minutes on each green just chipping, putting, and practicing bunker shots as I usually had a 1-2 hole gap between another foursome behind me.
I thought the greens were rolling quite well, and the bunkers were in good condition despite being a little packed down with some rain earlier in the day. Following lots of rain in the past week or two, there was still some standing water in some areas of the rough but most of the fairways were in reasonable. I think my only criticism was that fairways seemed to be a little shaggier than what I'd prefer, and the rough hadn't been recently cut. While the longer rough can make a shorter course more challenging, as a public course that gets a fair amount of play, I think this is unfavorable as it significantly slows down play. However, I think the main reason for the long rough was due to the wet conditions that likely prevented maintenance from mowing it earlier in the week.
All in all, this is a good option for golfers looking for a slightly shorter course, but one that offers a variety of well designed holes to enjoy. I'll be back again.
A Must Do
Really nice course, even with the course being air raided it played well. The layout made the course really worth doing again and I will!!!!
Great improvement
Its been a while since golfing the course due to a few years ago charging full price and showing 1 temp green online when in fact there was 5.. The course played well. Greens were in good shape and soft. 17 hole is a nice par 3 that will challange you.
Ok Course
Decent track, not in great shape though. Pace of play was slow. There are better courses for the same rate in the general area.
Good pace of play
10:17 tee time on a Sunday and finished right at 2:20. Was pretty surprised to finish in 4 hours on a Sunday. The course and greens were in good shape. Would play again.
We played from the tips. The course was challenging
and the greens were in good shape. I would definitely play it again.
rough
the fees, after discount, are higher than last year. There are many competitive courses that are a little bit better deal. faireays tight vs 1.5 " rough. this made club selection more difficult
overall good condition, greens were excellent. true, quick, and consistent
Expensive for what it is...
Not a bad course, can tend to be slow pace and a round can take over 4 hours.
I probably would play here again but only using a hot deal.
Monday’s come with a free hotdog/brat which was a welcome surprise.
