Rating 70.3

The 27-hole course at Schaumburg Golf Club is divided into three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations that range from just over 6,000 yards to 6,700 yards. The Tournament, Baer, and Players Courses all provide a unique set of challenges but they share the same great conditions on their tees, greens, and fairways. Schaumburg has been host to numerous events since opening in 1928, including the U.S. Open Qualifying and Illinois Open Qualifying tournaments. It is a popular course since the club offers country club amenities and quality with the affordability of a public golf course. Schaumburg's Players/Baer combination starts out with a few tricky carries over water on the front nine and a more forgiving back nine. There are strategically placed bunkers throughout the course, however.

Players Course

The course is beautiful and very well maintained. The staff is exceptional. Aso, wonderful opportunity to enjoy the nice restaurant--great food. We all felt like we were at a country club rather than a park district course.

Schaumburg Golf Club

Great track, I walked 9 at the twilight rate for $13. That's an absolute steal as a consumer, there is nothing like playing a great course that you know that you get what you pay for and even more!

Highly recommended. Need to try out the other 9-hole tracks on the course(27 total).

Love this course but today

Love this course but today the greens were in terrible shape, dried up and yellow.
The fairway were in great shape, but second cut needed another mowing. You hit your ball in the second and you had a hard time finding your ball.
Slowing down everybody playing time.

Soggy, But Nice

I promised another review after having played the "Players" course, and I'm glad I did. The greens on the "Baer" course were in much better shape, and the layout was good. Despite the course getting drenched a few hours prior to tee off, it posed no problems except for one low area on 5 (and uncut wet rough). Carts were path only, but as I was walking, no worries...except the high humidity. They had water on at least 2 tees, so I didn't completely dehydrate. If you like to walk & carry, Schaumburg is a great option.

Rained out

We only played front nine(tournament course) , then the rain came down hard. The staff was quick and kind enough to give us rain check for 18 holes 50% off. We are definitely coming back . Very well kept course and challenging!

Take a pass on this one...

VERY Beat up. Should have went to Covered Bridges or even Pheasant Run instead. Not worth the premium price and the pace of play is brutal!

Great course 27 holes!!!

This was my first time playing this course and I really enjoyed it. With a great deal I got a good bang for my buck. It was a bit slow with foursomes everywhere, but with three 9 hole courses you might find an opportunity to move around at least in the later part of the afternoon. Really like the layout of the course and felt like I was playing somewhere special.

Best public course in Chicago, period.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They actually have rangers on the course that keep play moving. This course is in tremendous shape, great pace of play, best greens around.
GPS on the golf carts gives yardage to front, middle and back.
Like many course in the area struggled early spring with winter damage, course fully recovered. Best around!

Good Quality Course

In the NW suburbs, this is a great course. If you can get a discounted green fee, it is a fantastic value.

good course with great variety

Schaumburg Golf course is 3 nines and they mix up the first tee and 10th tee. We played the "players" and "Baer"

We were the 2nd group to tee off in the morning, we were a 4 some and still managed to play in around 3.5 hours. The course conditions were excellent except that it was a little over watered in areas resulting in soggy/messy approach shots.

The staff was very friendly. The ranger presence was better at that course than any municipal course I have ever played. The value when booked through golf now is exceptional.

The course is fun to play. I felt that it was more challenging than the rating/slope but at no point did I feel the course was unfair. It has alot of water. You will very likely use every club in your bag which I enjoy. The greens are fast and very receptive. The sand is well taken care of and consistent. It appears that the people that play the course take special care to fill in divots and repair ball marks.
