Annbriar Golf Course

The best public course in the St. Louis area. Wonderful conditions, design and the staff is so friendly. If I could play one course everyday - Annbriar would be the course.

FYI. The course is aerating their greens on October 12-13.

I’ve played many courses around the country and Annbriar always ranks high on my list. Very happy it’s so close to home and staff is always friendly. They also have some of the best Bloody Mary’s around!

I'm a cyclist and runner, in decent shape.

My GF and I enjoy walking courses, note: waking rates are offered but this is NOT a course to walk and the option shld not exist.

Finally got a chance to get back to Annbriar. It's always in great shape and considering it has been very dry here lately the course was in great shape. The greens were soft enough to hold approach shots but firm enough to have a great roll when putting. There was no marshal present and we did have to tolerate a slow group in front of us but it wasn't enough to takeaway from my experience on the course. If you haven't played Annbriar, what are you waiting for?!

Annbriar always lives up to its ratings. A great golfing experience “tuff but fun”.

What a great course and friendly staff. Played 36 ... greens were in great shape and the course is more than fair. It does require some good golf shots and some strategic choices on many holes but is also very playable for the average golfer with multiple tee box choices. Will definitely be going back soon

I have had the priviledge of playing this course many times since it opened in 1993. It is easily the best public course in the St. louis area and has been since day 1. Always a lot of fun to play and the pace of play for us was great. We teed off a little before 1 pm on a Saturday and completed the round in less than 4 hours. I always look forward to playing this course and have never been disappointed in the condition or challenge it provides. if you are in the area or visiting and want to play a great course, this should be at the top of the list.

I have played Cog Hill in Chicago, Torrey Pines in San Diego and many Public as well as Private courses around the country including Riviera (LA), Olympia Fields & Medina (CHI), Bellerive and Old Warson in St. Louis among many others. Annbriar is one of the most well maintained, beautiful, challenging yet fun golf courses that I have ever played. While not the same many of those private courses mentioned, i t ranks right up there with every great course that I have had the pleasure of playing.

The last two times (maybe 3) we played here they were 5+ hour rounds. That just ruins the game. I don't think we saw a marshal all day.

The course was in outstanding shape. The rough was very thick and tall, perhaps due to a very recent Korn Ferry Tour event held there. This was a challenging and very enjoyable adventure. Highly recommended.

This course is a must play if you are ever downstate Illinois close to the St Louis area. Must drive the ball well. Only let down for me was the greens were a little slower than the first time I played. Overall, worth at least one play and I will play it again.

First, the course is in immaculate condition.

However, this is not what makes this place special. Most courses have the same rate for the weekends/holidays. Not at Annbriar. Even though Monday was a holiday, you paid their Monday rate of $55 ($15 less than the weekend rate). What a bargain for the best course in the St. Louis area.

That tells you how well Annbriar is ran and how much they appreciate their customers. The staff cannot be more friendly too,

The greens have no stressed (brown) areas. They are in great shape. When you stand on the tees, the fairways look so green and manicured.

If I had any complaints, the tee boxes did need to be mowed. When you teed your ball up, the grass was up near the bottom of your ball.

Holes 1-4, 7 and 10 are pretty bland. The other holes are interesting and fun. Watch out for the 30 foot drop-off behind the 8th hole! It will take at least one time playing to figure out the correct line off the tee on a few holes. The greens were a bit slow for my liking. They were healthy though. Worker was out watering the greens while we were playing and checking the temperature of the greens on several holes (getting in our way). It's a nice piece of property. I'd play it again if I was in the area.
