About
Cantigny Golf in Wheaton offers 27 holes of championship golf. It is also a great place for juniors with an academy and nine-hole youth links course. The holes are divided into the Lakeside, Hillside, and Woodside nines, names that connote the characteristics of the beautiful landscape. There are two meandering creeks as well as 12 lakes interspersed throughout the golf courses. The nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Lakeside/Hillside Course, as the name would imply, takes advantage of the many lakes and elevation changes. Mature hardwood trees frame the holes and more than 100,000 flowers provide a colorful accent. In addition to water hazards, there are also strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. All of the golf courses are enjoyable challenging without being overly difficult.

Nice Course - Sometimes.
$112.00 is too much to pay for this course. It can be a great course one week and then a week later, the greens are shaggy and the staff are less then cordial.
When you call to make a tee time, ask if the greens are being aerated. If so, STAY AWAY!
The staff, particularly some the men, act as if they're doing you a favor by allowing you to play there. Very strange.
This course used to be about as good as any private course in the area. But it seems to get worse every year.
Can-Tee-Nee
With an average price-tag a little over $100, the expectations are a bit higher. The practice areas were nice and spacious. The grass was in good shape at the range, but they had us hitting of off the mats for some reason. The layout of the golf course was nothing crazy; there are a lot of slight doglegs and about every has trees down either side. The greens were in good shape, not very fast, but rolled true. I would definitely play this course again, but for me, it's not worth more that $80 or $90.
A Must Play
One of my favorite courses to play in the Chicago-land area! GREAT course, staff and overall experience. Well worth the money
Excellent course, well designed.
Good challenge, many difficult holes with good variety of shot selections required. Three sets of men's tees allow higher handicaps fair test. Best two nines are definitely the Lakeside and Woodside. Hillside nine not nearly as difficult.

Great course, horrible greens!
It would have been nice to have been informed that the greens had been punched and were not in good shape. At the very least knock the $115 a round down to $75...etc. the course is usually wonderful, I just wish the course would take the condition into affect when charging folders late in the season.
One of the Best
Cantigny is a special place. It has beauty everywhere you look. It is maintained like a private club and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is one of the best courses in the Chicago area and we have a lot of good courses. I highly recommend it.
Wonderful course, beautiful and well maintained
Only played Lakeside, but rest of course looked spectacular. No pressure to play fast, but finished in 2hr 15min. Staff particularly friendly and accommodating..well worth a drive to play Cantigny.
Like a private club
Absolutely one of the best courses i have ever played and such a beautiful course. Greens fast and true, very well maintained, challenging course, and so beautiful! I want to go back asap!

Very sloppy, but nice
The course was very sloppy from a couple recent rainstorms. The starter told us we were 15-20 minutes delayed, but then found us coming off the driving range and told us that we were on time...I guess I won't get to putt on the practice green for 10-15 minutes like I planned!
After playing Dubsdread last weekend, I can't rate this one as "challenging," but it is more challenging than most.
Great course for the money
Not too many courses in the area that are kept to this level. Great course, fun to play, and a nice variety with the 3 9's.
good looking public golf course
beautiful golf course. Interesting layout, a little short from blue tee. course is in very good condition. green is not tuned to be fast when we played. I'd love to play it again and the other 9 holes.
Great course, but usually pretty expensive
I played here after seeing a super deal on GolfNow, and as most people know, this course is a gem in Chicagoland. Normally over $100, but got a deal at $40 on GolfNow, so look for these offerings on Hot Deals.
Tight shots required
Only possible improvement would be to distribute a printed hole map with distances from tee boxes to hazards, etc. like Harborside does.
Hillside/Woodside - beautiful, challenging, fair, and fun for all
Cantigny has a lot of undulations all over the fairways, rough and greens. Best to plan for putting practice and work at reading greens before making the trip out. Tall mature trees outline the fairways, with occational fescue and water to contend with. Really a beautiful course.
Course was in great condition, though a little crowded from a tournament earlier in the day. Played in a group with 2 off of the blues, 1 white, and 1 from the red tees. All had their share of opportunities for scoring and had a great time.
Looking forward to making it back again, Cost is commensurate with quality here though, so it will likely be a rare treat.

Great course except I felt like I was pressured to play fast. There was a ranger on every single hole making sure we played in 4 hrs.
Parkland at its best
Cantigny is a fantastic facility - holes are well spaced due to huge property - for the price maintenance of tees and fairways could be better - greens are good - good challenge for any golf ability - one of the nicest courses I've ever played from an overall look and feel.
Great Course I would play it every week.
