Cantigny Golf - Lakeside/Hillside

Why have I waited so long to play you, Cantigny? Everything was above and beyond any expectations I have had. Staff is great, too! Tip them accordingly!

This course is not really for the beginner even if you play the front tees. It is a challenge but a great course. One of the best courses and facility in the Chicagoland area. Also one of the most expensive.

The course is well-known for being in perfect shape most of the time.

But the green speeds are not consistent. Sometimes they're fast, other times they're a little fuzzy. Still, it's one of the best courses around. The layout and surroundings are really nice

Some of the staff are a bunch of people who act as if they're too good to be bothered. I suspect this has much to do with their age (a little older) and the fact that they have to deal w/ complaints all day. That said, they do not display professionalism and treat golfers as if We are doing THEM a big favor by paying 115 dollars to play there.

My rewards status allowed me to play for free, otherwise it would've been $120. This is a very nice course with great amenities. Fast greens that run nice and true. Plush fairways and an excellent practice area. But it confirms that (for me) there is a maximum that I'll pay for a round of golf. I played Schaumburg GC last week and found it to be equally challenging and in just as good condition. $45 compared to $120 is a no-brainer

Simply one of best Chicago has to offer. Beautiful, semi-tough, very fun. Somewhat overpriced at $100+ for 18 holes full price.

I didnt like that this course does not have a replay rate. We finished 18 and wanted to play another 9. The rate was 40 walking. That's like saying we don't want your business. Besides that, I'm happy I saved money with golf now because as great of a course this was, its overpriced.

It was the frist time I played at cantigny.Played lakeside and woodside,conditions were great,loved the smooth greens,practice area was excelent.Only reason I would not go back was the price. Even using the hot deal and 25% promo,My group and I felt it was still over priced.

Clean range balls, complete practice facilities from driving to pitching and putting, scenic views from tee boxes with 4 to choose from and clean natural pristine course. Need I say more?

Course in great shape. Very courteous staff. Round of play very good. Cart and beverage personnel readily available. Pro shop one of the best with nice merchandise.

Cantigny delivers on every aspect of a great golf experience. From the amazingly friendly and helpful staff to their full-featured practice facility to a course that was in absolutely perfect shape, Cantigny delivers about the best value in the Chicago area.

One aspect of Cantigny that completely blew me away is the condition of the greens. They were impeccably maintained, fast and designed with subtlety. For a daily fee course to maintain greens in this kind of tournament shape everyday has to be difficult. Cantigny does it and they are able to do it on every green on the course. The subtely of design is also something I appreciate. There are no elephants buried in the middle of these green complexes. While many of these greens have a lot of slope and breaks to them, it is all very subtle.

If you are a golfer that likes to move around the Chicago-area and play some of the better publicly accessible courses, then you must put Cantigny on your play-list. And once on you experience it, I promise that it will make it into a regular rotation of courses you play.

Had high expectations about the course based on fees charged for greens. It turned out to be just an ordinary golf course, except for one hole which was interesting.

Tricky, challenging, wonderful shape - great time. They dont put golfers out to frequently - we never waited to tee up. Excellent

Took more than 5 hours to play. We had to play cart path only The course was wet and the rough was exactly that, and because of the wet conditions I assume they were not able to cut it, and we spent a lot of time looking for balls in it. All in all though the course was in good shape and the greens were running at a nice speed. We did have an enjoyable time.

A must play for the avid and advanced golfer. Will play again and again.

This was my first time out to Cantigny this year and I played the lakeside/hillside courses. I have to say that this is by far the best conditioned course in the area right now. The lakeside greens were running fast and in fantastic shape. The hillside greens were a little slower but also in great shape. The same goes for the range as it was in excellent condition and far superior to any in the area as this makes a difference... Pace of play was also fantastic for a Sat morning. I will be back very soon....

If you can afford to play here regularly, you are definitely a lucky golfer! There is nothing negative to say about this course. I wish hot times would have this course all the time at the &50. Woodside is definitely a PGA caliber course with the difficulties, but the Hilldside is definitely playable as an amateur.

We played at Cantigny yesterday and it was great. I would recommend this course to all of my friends and business acquaintances.

The course was in phenomenal shape and also provides a great challenge. Highly recommend anyone to go, especially with a Hot Deal.

Best of the best quality course and very good managed course. The course layout and the landscape are beautiful.
The greens are very fast.
I played only with very good promotion fee but mostly this course is very expensive course that I can't afford.
