Paradise Valley Golf Course
About
Paradise Valley Golf Course was voted the top course in Solano County and it is considered one of the best values in the North Bay area. Mature oaks line the fairways and meandering creeks wander across the course, coming into play on nine holes. It is a good course for walkers but it is still quite a challenge from the back tees. Club selection and ball placement are equally important. Paradise Valley Golf Course's signature hole is the par-5 10th. It requires a trio of accurate shots beginning with a well placed tee shot just short of the lake that sets you up for the second shot. You will have to make it past a ravine and a massive oak tree in order to make it to the green, which is protected by both sand and grass bunkers.

play smart and course will reward you
Variety of challenges on diffferent holes required attention to club election, and strategy. Fairways and greens were in good condition, and forgiving of less than perfect play. We played the White tees ( I am a 20 hcp) and had to use every club in the bag. This is not a driver/ 9 iron kind of course. So, put on your thinking cap and delight in the valley views surrounding the course.
great time
Had a great time and shot under 100. will return again .
Great setting; good challenge
I have played this course many times and it is always a good challenge. The views of the open spaces surrounding the course are beautiful. And, enjoying lunch or snacks on the patio is truly wonderful.
Quality Course in good shape
With the winter rains, Paradise Valley is in as good a shape as I have seen it the past 3 years. Fairways are green. The rough is actually rough made of grass, instead of dead patches, and the greens are rolling as true as a mid-tier public course's greens can roll.
From the whites it can mean a lot of short irons and wedges into greens, conversely the blues can push the better part of 6800yds which can be a bit much if the wind is blowing, but regardless of which of the two sets you pick, it's a fun and largely interesting course.
The greenskeeper can definitely pick some nasty pin positions when he likes, but all in all they are normally in spots that add enough interest, but don't get you cursing.
I prefer it to Rancho because it's more set up to walk.
Great fun golf course
Paradise is a fun layout and challenging if you choose the correct tees to play from. The greens and excellent and run very true. Course is very green right now, so get here before the summer water restrictions hit. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Really enjoyed the round of golf.
conditions
The course was in very good condition. greens not fast but challenging. enjoy the layout of course. played 6200 hundred tees (white) and found to be a good challenge. Would absolutely go back again even tho a little over hour drive. Price for round very reasonable!
Recovering nicely
The greens were horribly mismanaged last year so it is a pleasant surprise how will they have rebounded the spring. Fairways are immaculate for the first time in years. Amazing what a solid winters worth of rain will do.
Best course in Fairfield
Played this course on Saturday, it was very busy since it was Easter weekend, but I must say the pace of play was outstanding, we never waited on a hole to tee off. Plus the group behind us was a hole back. We played with two locals who helped us figure out the course. It was in great condition, GPS helped a lot. Greens putted true and fast, fairways were tight. My only complaint would be the sand, or is it fine dirt? It would be great if they would put some of that nice white sand in the bunkers. Called an order in on #9, picked up the food quickly. The burger and house made chips were excellent. I will be back to play this course again!!!!
Always very nice.
Paradise Valley is a perfect 1/2 point to meet my son for a round. I have played it 5 times now and always found it in good shape and very playable. The roughs yesterday (3/24/16, a Thursday) were a little longer than normal but that is understandable because of recent rains. Speaking of rain the course drains nicely. The views are nice. Pace of play was pretty good at 4 hr 15 min. Greens were just a little bumpy but fair and nice.
The staff has always been friendly in the pro shop, on the course and in the restaurant.
BTW, we had a great hamburger in the restaurant just before the round.
If you get a chance to play this course you should.
Nice course but very slow play
We generally enjoy this course but avoid weekends due to typically slow pace of play. However, this Wednesday round took us almost 6 hours to complete. Making it even more challenging the course had implemented cart path only rules. If we had known this in advance (too bad Golf Now does not alert users of this) we would have brought our pull carts.
Awesome day of golf
Course was in good shape. Greens had recently been aerated but rolled pretty nice considering. I was paired with a couple of great guys that made it a great experience. Fairways in great shape as well as bunkers. Shot a 78 so no complaints
Great walking layout.
Booked a single last minute and arrived to aerated greens. They were appropriately apologetic at check in. That didn't bother me too much as the layout is really enjoyable. Plenty of challenge from blue tees with tight lines and holes that work both directions. Tricky greens with some challenging tucked pins make you choose wisely when to go for it. I would like to see a stricter dress code enforced. I'm no snob. Golf is my church.
Generous fairways and pure greens
Dollar for dollar, Paradise Valley is one of the best values in Northern California. The course is always in good shape and the greens are well maintained and pure. Most of the fairways are generous, and set up well for a left to right shot from the tee. Most doglegs can be challenged, rewarding the aggressive line at the risk of bunkers and water if it isn't pulled off. Pace of play is usually good. Great course to play, and you usually step off 18 feeling like you score should have been better. Solid practice facilities and the bar-restaurant stays open late, always a plus in my book.
Great deal
Excellent course and staff. Conditions were perfect. Course was in fantastic condition.
Beautiful Christmas Day
I felt lucky to be able to get out Christmas Day and shoot some golf,it was perfectly clear and sunny about 72.Course was in great shape, lakes low do to the drought but grass in great condition.Greens rolled fast and true and this course has some amazing holes that make it interesting.
Another fine round at Paradise
Work was slow, so I got time for an unexpected round. Went to Paradise Valley and was promptly paired up with a twosome. The course was in great shape aside from a few areas that they're obviously working on. I expected the course to play "wet" due to recent rains, but I didn't have any problem with wet areas, mud, or plugging. The only negative was a triple bogey on 18, but I can't blame that on the course...got greedy cutting the dogleg! Otherwise, a great round!
Best Municipal Golf Course that I have played
For being a city-owned golf course this is one of the best courses that I have played. The course conditions, the carts, and just about everything else with this facility ranks 5 out of 5 stars. Definitely recommend this place to friends and anyone looking to play in Fairfield.
