Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2021.
Located a short distance from the Walt Disney World Resort and Orlando's airport, Hunter's Creek Golf Course offered a challenging game. It was the longest golf course in Florida and has been rated among the top 75 public courses in the U.S. The course winded through stately pines and thirteen lakes. The spacious, rolling fairways and expansive, undulating greens presented interesting challenges on the course. There were also many strategically placed bunkers and water hazards that come into play on almost every hole.

Worst shape golf course ever
I went to hunters creek to use the driving range at 3:30 at it was close because they run out of balls and there was no personal to pick up more balls. 4 of 10 times i try to use the this driving range there is a problem and i couldnt use it. Due to the closed driving range situation I decided to play some holes. What an error, Let me tell you something, this is the worst shape golf course i have played in my life. Horrible greens and bad tee boxes.
Hunters Creek
The greens were a mess. Still like the course but probably overpriced due to the greens. It is disappointing about the greens condition.
Medical emergency
We had to leave Orlando due to a medical situation.
we drove 10 hours to Tn to see my Oncolgist.
Hunters Creek would not cancel unless course was closed . very poor customer relations.
Ron Davis
Bad greens.
The greens were in terrible shape and no employee gave any warnings about them. The bunkers were very inconsistent.
Fire the Greenskeeper
Every green was bad to fsir. Plenty of other courses in the area with better conditions. Should currently offer discounts or inform players of poor greens conditions. Doesn't look as though course was reseed ed with winter rye this year. Nice course layout just poor conditions.
Greens are in TERRIBLE condition
The only negative I would warn about is the greens. They were unacceptable. All of them were severely damaged and in need of a major overhaul. If you don't mind moving your ball on each green to find grass to put on then go for it but I will make it a point to call and check the condition of the greens the next time I book.
Bad shape
Greens are in terrible condition , greens keepers should be let go,it's shame because course has a descent layout
Look before you Book
This is the 3rd time I've played this course over the same number of years. The course has a great layout and is somewhat challenging - Sand traps are well placed and maintained. The only negative I would warn about is the greens. They were unacceptable. All of them were severely damaged and in need of a major overhaul. If you don't mind moving your ball on each green to find grass to put on then go for it but I will make it a point to call and check the condition of the greens the next time I book.
Greens are in Bad shape
We booked this round for a 2:30pm tee time, no where did it include a headsup that a 24 team couples league was teeing off before us, no starter on hand, we took the initiative to squeeze in at #10 tee and play front 9 last. there were several groups in front from golf league when are tee time arrived, Dont play on Tuesday afternoons, Greens were in rough shape.
Like the layout
There is enough open space for a recovery of a shot not down the middle but enough obstacles to challenge your accuracy. The tees, greens and fairways are being worked on so they are not in good condition partly I suspect the lack of rain. That gives you a good ball run but difficulty holding the greens. My wife and I have played the course twice and fond it fun and a good value. The staff are very friendly.
Course in poor condition
Greens were generally very poor shape. Tees were uneven and in poor condition. Fairways were OK but only barely.
We have played this course many times over the past 12 years and it was in the worst shape we have seen it.
We finished our round at about 5.30 pm and found the pro shop and restaurant all locked up with no one around.
Still Not Up to Par!
In December I thought the greens were improving and suggested that by Spring, they would be in pristine condition. But, after seeing them today, I'm more concerned that they won't even have any grass on them in April!! Quite simply, the greens are embarrassing. The apron around many of the green's and the first couple of feet of the putting surface, is bare of grass. Holes 2, & 4 should be closed and assigned temporary greens. There's no room for a temporary at #3. The course does now have a supply of scorecards, but finding a rake for each bunker is a chore. Fairways and bunkers are in great shape, and with some rain, the fairways should green up nicely. I'm still somewhat optimistic about the future of the greens, but right now. I still don't understand why the crew that's been working on this course for as long as I can remember, and I've lived on it over 20 years, can't keep this course in optimal playing condition year round. I can't recommend this course for the rate that's being asked.
Course needs tlc
Course needs some work on paths, tee boxes etc. A little water might help. Overall good course for price we paid. Wouldn't pay anymore.
Hunter Creek
My party and I played mid-day and the course was in good condition. Play was a little fast and we felt like the players behind us were pushing, but we had players in front of us that we were waiting on so we couldn't let them play through. The start times could have been timed better.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Check in was fast and easy. The course offered a driving range, putting practice and a grill for drinks and lunch.
Couse is just in poor condition
Our home course was having a tournament so we decided to try out this course again. Last year, it was in poor condition. This year the same. Greens are horrible. Tee boxes are all sand. Fairways are hard as a rock. Sand traps not cared for and few rakes. Scorecard yardage, tombstone yardages at tee boxes and reality are all different!! I had my own GPS so it didn't matter for me. Seems like par-4s were all the same yardage - 320-330 yards from the whites. Clearly, they are trying to make course easier for the average player.
Great Design ... Very Poorly Maintained!
We booked this through Golf Now because of the location and price. The course has a great design, which makes the lack of maintenance even more disappointing. The greens on the front are just bad, with the back nine greens in somewhat better shape. The responses to earlier reviews indicated that efforts were underway to improve the course conditions ... if this was happening they were not evident. Very disappointing day!
It's obvious you haven't been back to Hunter's Creek in awhile. I'm not part of the new management team. I've lived here for more than 20 years, on the 16th hole. And I played 5 different golf courses this week, including Kissimmee Bay, Legends in Claremont, Ridgewood Lakes and Providence, and I'm telling you Hunter's Creek is the best of them all. Check it out for yourself!!
