Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club (formerly known as Bobcat Trail Golf Club), also known simply as "the Cat," has been considered one of Sarasota County's best courses since it opened in 1998. Each hole on this lengthy par-71 layout offers a risk-reward opportunity. This thought-provoking course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and sharp short game skills. The large greens are fast and undulating and bunkers are strategically placed throughout. There are also several water hazards that come into play. Not only does each hole offer a unique challenge, they all offer beautiful scenery with a different eye-catching feature on each. Golfers will be sure to encounter some of the abundant wildlife that inhabits the golf course including foxes, gators, hawks and osprey. The club's staff claims that any of the 18 holes could be considered a signature hole.

Solid Choice for a Round
Management has clearly kept up maintenance on the course. Given that, I would call the course conditions better than average. Not sure how much reseeding was done or aeration? Certainly the course sees a lot of play.
We paid a premium to play in the morning on Saturday and finished in 4 hours!
Great Track but greens too slow & bumpy
Had not played here for a couple of years. The greens use to be fast & smooth. They fixed up the bunkers, which had no sand, rest room very nice & new & free bottle water a nice touch.
Someone said greens replaced but not hard like other new greens. Rolling greens would help.
Hard tee boxes
Not a good first impression when you have to pound a tee in the 1st tee box but that was the case. This course is nice but needs some TLC. A little water goes a long way. Some really nice holes, especially #15, but again...water, water, water.

Great lay out......Needs WATER couldn't get a tee in the ground. Pray for rain if they don't water
Very good course conditions
Overall excellent experience. Friendly staff. The Starter at the bag drop was very welcoming, helpful and courteous. Pace of play was quick. Somewhat difficult but nice layout. Worth a return trip.
Good day at the course
Very enjoyable day golf. Liked the layout. Did find greens firm and fast. Had not played here for 6 years and found course much improved. Friendly staf and appreciated started getting my twosome off even qicker that our tee time. Will certainly play again there again, especially if I find another good reduced rate.
It's one of our fav-0-rite courses!
Some members said we got a GREAT price for our tee time at this time of day!

Paired up with a couple who were members. Very nice, made our round of golf very enjoyable!
Pace of play is terrible
Course is coming back. Pace of play was ridiculous. Three hours on the front and two hours and 15 minutes on the back.

Overpriced
Totally disappointed in this courses conditions ... have played here many times ... exploiting players at this point.... Course was dry and not in good condition....really not a good value now ....
First round since knee surgery
The course is in great shape and through GolfNow got a great price. I would definitely recommend this course. Played a great round for my first back from surgery.
Great location for great price
For in season the cost was very reasonable. Included range balls and chipping green. Fast greens. Well taken care of. Staff was very friendly including the bar on the turn. Will play there again for sure.
Slow round
Teed off 20 minutes after our reserved tee time. Backed up all day (I.e. waited on virtually every shot).
Course in great shape, practice facility is a 10 out of 10.
With a try
Course layout is good. Greens are hard and don't hold the ball very well. Fairways are getting sparse and lack water. Pace of play was a little slow Ann's I for one don't understand why they don't have a ranger to help out with these pace. Hard to justify paying $50 other than its "in"season.
Pace of play
Have played here several times over the past five years. Significant improvements to traps which used to be full of gravel. Course conditions were okay but nothing to rave about. Teed off at 11:40 and finished after 5:00. No evidence of any rangers, etc to try and move things along.
Disappointed
This coarse used to be in much better condition. Not sure what happened but the fairways were sparse and the greens were rock hard and in terrible shape. Too bad for such a nice layout.
