Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club (formerly known as Bobcat Trail Golf Club), also known simply as "the Cat," has been considered one of Sarasota County's best courses since it opened in 1998. Each hole on this lengthy par-71 layout offers a risk-reward opportunity. This thought-provoking course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and sharp short game skills. The large greens are fast and undulating and bunkers are strategically placed throughout. There are also several water hazards that come into play. Not only does each hole offer a unique challenge, they all offer beautiful scenery with a different eye-catching feature on each. Golfers will be sure to encounter some of the abundant wildlife that inhabits the golf course including foxes, gators, hawks and osprey. The club's staff claims that any of the 18 holes could be considered a signature hole.

very fine course
Everything was very good with this course. Our 4some had a great time and the pace of play was great as our twilight time allowed us to get in 17 holes before darkness.
I would play this club again.
We saw a bobcat and gators as well.
85 Dollars, ARE YOU JOKING!!!!!!!
Horribly overpriced, seriously 85 dollars for this course is a complete joke. I know they have changed ownership and are trying to improve this course but is it necessary to try and re-coup your investment in 1 year. It is advertised with holes under construction. Please give me a break. Also voicemail when you contact the course is the most annoying voicemailo I have ever heard. If I heard "better than most" one more time I swear I was going to throw the phone through the roof. Please reconsider your totally ridiculous green fees.
Moving On UP
When you are looking for a course in this region you could do yourself a favor and play here. It's a nice challenging layout, not your basic flat Florida course. You've got to pay attention to your shots. Golf doesn't get better than this course.
Great experience
The course received 3.5" rain the night before so our expectations were low. So surprised at the conditions, course played well and long with very little problems. Bunkers are fantastic, were wet but extremely playable. Played as a 2 some and finished our round in a little over 3 hours. Been coming to the Punta Gorda area for 2 years and frankly disappointed in the golf until we played here. Top notch layout and experience.
45 minutes late getting off first tee with no explanation from the starter !!!! not a happy camper !!!!
Great golf experience
Lots of updating going on at this course, greens, sand traps, club house, and more. Every thing is very nice and it has a great friendly staff. Check this course out. A good value helps create a great golf experience !
Work in progress
The course is being upgraded , new traps, reversed the 9s,and new sod grass in places that needed it . This course is fun to play and will test you. I have played here 6 straight winters. and would just like to say this year is the best it has ever been . Great job, can't wait for all the traps on the back 9 to be like the front 9 .
Course has potential
Greens were very good. Fast with some difficult pin placements. Challenging but fun. Back nine is not completed yet, still working on the traps. New sand traps on the front nine are excellent. Fun layout with very good practice facilities. Once the back nine is completed, it has the potential of being one of the best courses in the area.
Upgrades continue. Amazing transformation.
Amazing transformation. All bunkers being rebuilt. Fairways and greens in great shape. Pro shop being remodeled. Carts have full gps, plus USB ports for cell phones. Great upgrade. Course to be affiliated with resort being developed in Punta Gorda.

Excellent will return
Challenging layout. Enough tees for all handicaps. Par 5s are quite difficult compared to the others. They are working on the traps and remodeling the clubhouse. Booked on Golfnow as a twosome and played as such. Nice. Most courses insist we join the other twosome. As a bonus, got to see Santa in the restroom.

First time playing this course. Hesitant at first due to reviews of construction and rocky traps. Pleasantly surprised with friendly staff, cart guys, and starter. Gave us a good briefing on conditions with many bunkers being reconstructed. Advised not to play from traps - free drop. Golf carts are new and have an easy-to-use GPS setup which is a wonderful addition to the experience. Course itself is beautiful, well laid out, excellent tee boxes, carpet fairways, fairly low rough, undulating greens perfect. Wildlife galore. Pace of play was perfect and we finished under 4 hours. Will definitely play this course regularly and it will only get better as the construction winds down. And the beverage cart gal makes regular rounds so you'll never run dry! Highly recommended!
Going to be great.
They changed the front and back around which is ok but I think we should end at the club house not in the back forty’s but that’s only me. There spending a lot of money on fixing up the course, new bridges and a big item is the sand traps. There redoing all the traps with real golf course sand. Going to be a great course!!!
