Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club
About
Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club (formerly known as Bobcat Trail Golf Club), also known simply as "the Cat," has been considered one of Sarasota County's best courses since it opened in 1998. Each hole on this lengthy par-71 layout offers a risk-reward opportunity. This thought-provoking course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and sharp short game skills. The large greens are fast and undulating and bunkers are strategically placed throughout. There are also several water hazards that come into play. Not only does each hole offer a unique challenge, they all offer beautiful scenery with a different eye-catching feature on each. Golfers will be sure to encounter some of the abundant wildlife that inhabits the golf course including foxes, gators, hawks and osprey. The club's staff claims that any of the 18 holes could be considered a signature hole.

Medium difficult course
This is one of the better courses in the area. A bit of a drive from Sarasota but a great experience. Greens are seeded and slow but course was in good shape otherwise. Some holes are real signature - long, water off fairways and tight passages to the greens.
great course
The course was in great shape and staff all courteous and friendly. Great bargain for the price.
Course has some challenging hazards for the novice golfer. Would definitely play again.
great deal with golf now
Traps need attention. Yardages are hard to see. MEMBERS won't let you play thru. But even after all that it is still a pleasure to play. I plan to play very often .I rank it as a top notch facility.
Nice tract
This is a very nice course for the $$. Visually, it was very interesting, not your normal flat Florida landscape. The bunkering made the tee shots fairly challenging, yet there was ample room off the tee.
I would go back.
Pretty good
The only thing I did NOT like was the fact that almost all the bunkers are made from hard, packed sand that is full of small shells. You need to "pick" them out of the bunkers.
Better have GPS
They took the GPS'S off the golf carts and the course is poorly marked for yardages. The pole at the 150 yards would be a big help. What ever you do avoid the bunkers they are awful.
Mano
Very nice design.will challenge you.
Bunkering poor needs sand.greens good fairways good .bermuda rough cut close. ,
Enjoyable to play .
Bring your own sand
Nice layout and a good price on Golf Now. Condition of the course is mediocre at best due to no sand in the bunkers and the greens had some bare spots. Good value at under $20 but not worth a lot more.
Bobcat Trail
Normally Bobcat Trail is out of my range, dollar wise, during season. But with all of the Snowbirds back at home, it is well priced.
The course is in beautiful condition this time of year.
The greens are nice and fast and in very good condition.
The pro-shop is always well stocked and the staff is friendly.
bobcat trail golf club
course was ok considering lack of rain on all area courses, golf club is using their small lakes to keep greens, fairways, tee boxes lush,
Good place to play
Excellent pace of play (perhaps due to forecast for thunderstorms which never came), but I have played there before in a very satisfactory amount of time. Greens, fairways and tees were all in good shape. I will go back, particularly given the good rates through Golfnow.
Slowest course in SW Florida.
This is a decent course if you can get a discounted tee time. Yesterday was a 5 1/4 hour round and this is not peak season. We had 6 groups on #12. The rangers explanation was "Everyone is just playing a bit slow today." The group behind us quit. No one was ever asked to speed up or let someone play though. It was painful.. This course does not compare to Heron Creek or Kingsway Country Club. They are far better run.
Good course for the average golfer
With the 7:30 am tee time we finished in less than 4 hours. The greens and fairways were in good condition and much improved from when I played in January 2015. The grounds crew were working on improving the bunkers. Looking forward to playing this course again.
vastly improved
I've been to Bobcat several times in the past, the last time being in November of 2014. The course is greatly improved from anytime I've been there in the past. My golf partners and I were greatly impressed. We were told that it has been under new ownership for about 4 months by the starter and he said they have been putting a lot of money into the course.it definitely shows.
nice day, nice course
we had a great time, course has several really challenging holes. we enjoy lunch when we finished. everyone was very helpful
Bobcat is worth the trip.
Nice course layout and conditions. Pleasant staff and nice clubhouse/community.
Played five courses this trip....Bobcat was good value for the money compared to others. Good test of golf and pace was more than adequate.
Liked it the first time, liked it this time and i will return again.
Great Shape
I thought this couarse was set up well.
you dont see other people or holes during play.
Loved the driving range into a pond
Great course for even the average golfer
Beautiful layout. Fairways forgiving. The course looks great to the eye. Presents enough challenges for most types of golfer. One of the nicest courses in the area.
Nice course
Well maintained, greens in good condition. Plays to its rating and slope.
