Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club (formerly known as Bobcat Trail Golf Club), also known simply as "the Cat," has been considered one of Sarasota County's best courses since it opened in 1998. Each hole on this lengthy par-71 layout offers a risk-reward opportunity. This thought-provoking course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and sharp short game skills. The large greens are fast and undulating and bunkers are strategically placed throughout. There are also several water hazards that come into play. Not only does each hole offer a unique challenge, they all offer beautiful scenery with a different eye-catching feature on each. Golfers will be sure to encounter some of the abundant wildlife that inhabits the golf course including foxes, gators, hawks and osprey. The club's staff claims that any of the 18 holes could be considered a signature hole.

Very challenging course
Greens were just plugged and it was my understanding the Superintentant had just left and they were looking for a new one.
Bobcat Bargain
Always enjoy this course. But the "aeration" special made it especially nice. One of the better courses in Port Charlotte/North Port area. Always in great shape.
Love this course
I play Bobcat Trail every year on vacation and it is always in great shape. It is one of the best courses in Sarasota.
CARTS ARE NOT UP TO EXPECTATIONS.
BESIDES SOME MINOR PROBLEMS WITH
EQUIPMENT & COURSE THE CHALLENGES
OUTWEIGHED THE NEGATIVE ISSUES.
Bobcat Trails Review
Okay course could use a little TLC but alright for the value.
Kams view on bobcat
Love the course beautiful fairways only negative. Was they were air rating greens. Otherwise absolute must.
As good as it was five (5) years ago.
Two items of note.
1. Several areas ripped up by pigs or animals.
2. This is a perfect time to groom areas that
conduct water, but which are in a presently
dry condition. No water flowing currently..
Childs Play
Youth clinic at tee off time, started on 10 which was not a problem. Not a sole on back nine. Green were fast and fair, and ball ran true sand traps need some sand and not rock sand. What a value for the money as the starter told us to come to 1after finishing and play all the way thru if we felt like it as the kids would be out of the way.
Interesting course with a number of challenging holes
Enjoyed the course , however, thought the bunkers were not playable because of the amount of stones present, that apart the course was a good test of golf.
Wow!
That was a great round of golf! Pace of play would have been controlled by a starter with experience! He let our 4 go off and then sent 2 pairs of 2 after us. We had to wait to let both groups go with in 2 holes.
Great greens; however, if you don't like them fast, don't go there! There were a couple of misplaced holes, but still fun. The only thing the course needs is sand in the bunkers! I can't wait to go back!
Course is a challenge
This course presents a variety of challenges. I do wish they would fix the bunkers as the stones ruin your clubs. Some watering is in order also. The layout is great and it is difficult to score. The staff is always friendly and helpful which make it a good place to golf

The course and facilities were excellent. Golf Now made it affordable for me and my other golfers.
Smooth fast greens
I've played Bob Cat many times and its one of my favorites in the area. The layout is great with a wide variety of looks. You can score on this course if you don't hit a lot of errant shots. The greens are always quick but they were exceptionally fast this day. A few of the bunkers could stand a little work but all in all, this is a great track.

Fun course and fair. Enjoyed the round. Greens were faster than usual.

I always enjoy playing this course....staff is outstanding...pace was great until I got caught behind a foursome who was clueless about golf etiquette and pace of play....great place to play and I will play again...
Good Course
course is in good condition, staff is very friendly, greens are fast and true. The only downside to this course is the sand bunkers (and there are plenty of them), very hard sand with shells and pebbles.

this was the second time that i played this course. the greens were great both times. i will play this course again.
Bobcat Trail 4/26/2014
I've played this course before and it has been in better shape. Seems to be up and down in it's condition. I'll give them credit that it could be hacked up and hard to maintain with the heavy play over the winter months. I don't like sand traps with shells in them. Plus the shells end up on the greens after sand shots. Put some white sand in them! I like the track and will play it again if the price is right.
