Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club (formerly known as Bobcat Trail Golf Club), also known simply as "the Cat," has been considered one of Sarasota County's best courses since it opened in 1998. Each hole on this lengthy par-71 layout offers a risk-reward opportunity. This thought-provoking course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and sharp short game skills. The large greens are fast and undulating and bunkers are strategically placed throughout. There are also several water hazards that come into play. Not only does each hole offer a unique challenge, they all offer beautiful scenery with a different eye-catching feature on each. Golfers will be sure to encounter some of the abundant wildlife that inhabits the golf course including foxes, gators, hawks and osprey. The club's staff claims that any of the 18 holes could be considered a signature hole.

nine hole treat
Get on the course in the late afternoon and have it nearly to yourself.
It was a great layout with great conditions
I always have a great time at Bobcat. The greens are always challenging
Much improved
The course is much improved since we played it 3 years ago. The greens were fantastic and the course was in excellent shape. The pace of play did somewhat take away from the overall good experience.

nice resort course
good course for all levels of ability. This will test your skill to manage a golf course. Grass was a little sparse from not over seeding but overall a good course to play
Extremely slow play!
Slow slow slow play! The play was extremely slow by obvious snow bird hackers.
Excellent Course
This course is challenging but enjoyable at the same time. I like it because it forces me to push myself to try harder.

Great Course
The course was great, enjoy the GPS on cart. Have to lay up on some holes. Over all the course great, the only draw back was the traps, need to have sand not rocks. Like the course.
Great course
Great course, great shape, and well maintained. I had my 1st "Eagle" on a par 5.......Will return "soon", we drove one hour from Bradenton to experience a better course. Well worth the drive and cost$, well done Bobcat....

Good test but fun for any golfer
Enjoyed playing the course again. The greens were true but slower than usual. You will use every club in the bag and that is the measure of a good course.
Course needs some improvement
I always loved the challange at Bobcat from the tips and play here multiple times a year but upon arrival this time, I understand there was a lot of weather that took its toll on the course earlier in the year. The traps were all sand & gravel and should all be free lifts. The greens although fast had a coating on them and due to the conditions were hard to read and most of the fairways didn't have the nice plushness I enjoyed there in the past. It does look like they are trying to remedy things and I do hope they do. I still enjoyed the day as I like the challenging layout just tried avoiding the traps... and had a nice time. Staff was very nice and welcoming and great service afterwards.
Needs maintenance NOW
Course has gone downhill significantly in past year. Bunkers are rock filled and hard need to be redone. Greens have weeds and holes and roll inconsistently. Fairways have bare patches and weeds. Too many players do not fill divots or repair ball marks and that falls to the staff who other than take your green fees ignore you.
Pace of play is a function of throwing groups out without regard to pace and virtually non exsistant marshaling. We saw one Marshall who drove by without comment as we were backed up 3 deep at the tee. He drove as far from us as he could.
Pin flag colors were of no use as they had been put in with no regard to the stated scheme middle flgs were in the back back flags in front etc.
The cart has GPS but it did not work. Fortunately we had our own GPS and laser.
Under present condition and pricing I would not recommend this course.
Bunkers
What a great lay out! The bunkers need immediate help as the rocks were terrible. I had to pick clean and place in the bunkers as to no ruin my clubs.
The starter told me they had 400 players on this coarse today and that alone would renovate the bunkers.
The rest of the course was awesome.

I've been to Bobcat many times .... always a great experience ....
Course is Beautiful and Excellent Value
I played this course with my dad and the course is just beautiful. The greens are very well manicured and the layout is challenging. Saw a few alligators in the water as well. This course is a great value and had a good pace of play.
Pleasure to Play
Really like the layout especially the front nine. Pro and assistant pros are very good. One funky hole number 17, lay up area if one chooses is about 20 yards wide, no room for error. Most mid to long hitters would be going for the green in two.
Challenging and Fund To Play
Excellent golf course that is lots of fun to play for the more experienced player. Course knowledge certainly comes into play on several holes. Course management is also important.
Nice course
A few tight holes but most are open enough for the average golfer 85-95 range.
