Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club (formerly known as Bobcat Trail Golf Club), also known simply as "the Cat," has been considered one of Sarasota County's best courses since it opened in 1998. Each hole on this lengthy par-71 layout offers a risk-reward opportunity. This thought-provoking course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and sharp short game skills. The large greens are fast and undulating and bunkers are strategically placed throughout. There are also several water hazards that come into play. Not only does each hole offer a unique challenge, they all offer beautiful scenery with a different eye-catching feature on each. Golfers will be sure to encounter some of the abundant wildlife that inhabits the golf course including foxes, gators, hawks and osprey. The club's staff claims that any of the 18 holes could be considered a signature hole.

Great place for little money
Some holes are challenging but you have always a chance to make a good result. GPS in the carts are a big help
Good course, but poor service
I have played Bob Cat Trail several times during the season and always found it well kept and organised. It is a fair test of golf, making you think about every shot with fast undulating greens, water on most holes and lots of traps.
However recently we played it in the off season, we turned up to find no one at the bag drop, the guy in the pro shop was off hand and the barmaid was down right arrogant.
We were held up by uneccessary slow play and there was no ranger to resolve this, the absence of a refresher cart service was also disappointing.
I'll stick to playing "The Cat" during the season.
Great club with challenging greens and fairways
Interesting course meandering through up market homes, much crossing over of roads to encounter very fast undulating greens.
Course needs attention. Staff not very responsive.
Good layout. Needs maintenance. No help at bagdrop coming or going. Got off 20 minutes late due to ongoing tournament.04/27

Course was in great shape being that we are coming out of the snowbird season. Actually seen a bobcat on the first hole at 1:00pm in the afternoon, what a great sight that was.
Always enjoy playing this course
We drive down from Tampa to play the course a few times a year. We always enjoy to layout and location of the course. The staff is always very courteous.

Very nice layout
Very nice layout a challenge for any level player. Very disappointed with the bunkers. They require proper sand, not dirt,rocks and shells. With well maintained bunkers this would be an excellent course
Bobcat Trail
its a beautiful course with a great layout of holes.
the GPS is an excellent addition & with the water hazards,it was very useful to gage the required distance for a hit.
the only disappointment was the condition of the greens but after having playd this course many times,this was the only occasion for this.
We had some frustrations with the pace of play of the foursome ahead of us as they did not co-ordinate their hits well & spent too much time chatting on the greens & tees. We waited at every hole & tried giving them hints but we were ignored.I wish there was a marshall driving around to see all of this.
Other than this incident,we enjoyed our round & its one of our favorite courses in the area.

Bobcat Trail
This course has an interesting layout, fast greens that roll true. Conditioning is good. Staff is very friendly and courteous. You'll enjoy playing here.
GREAT greens
The rest of the course is great as well, but the greens are undulating and really smooth. Another great feature I really liked is the practice facility-you can practice full shots, chip shots, flop shots, and sand shots. Definitely recommended!
Nice Layout, fast Greens
Course was in good condition, but the rough is thin. Bunkers well maintained and greens were quick and a little hard. Pins were tucked away on some holes making it difficult to get close on approach shot. Course fairly generous with landing areas, although there was considerable sloping towards trouble. They have recommended tees based on handicap - disregard these if you like a challenge. There are no long forced carrys! I had no trouble to play this course from the Gold colored tees. Slow pace, waited on every shot.
Never disappointed
Have played here many times and am always pleased with the layout, conditions, and staff. This course is challenging but fair.
Multiple (5) tee positions cater to golfers of all levels. Greens are fast and normally very true, but verticut lines this times made them a bit bumpier.

Fast greens. Nice fairways, plenty of water. Carts include GPS which is great for first timers on the course that show distance to hazards and lay up areas plus front center and rear of green.
course was in great condition.
the course was fine but the round took 6 hrs to play. there was no ranger to get the groups ahead of is moving. will think twice about booking there again.
