Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club
About
Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club (formerly known as Bobcat Trail Golf Club), also known simply as "the Cat," has been considered one of Sarasota County's best courses since it opened in 1998. Each hole on this lengthy par-71 layout offers a risk-reward opportunity. This thought-provoking course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and sharp short game skills. The large greens are fast and undulating and bunkers are strategically placed throughout. There are also several water hazards that come into play. Not only does each hole offer a unique challenge, they all offer beautiful scenery with a different eye-catching feature on each. Golfers will be sure to encounter some of the abundant wildlife that inhabits the golf course including foxes, gators, hawks and osprey. The club's staff claims that any of the 18 holes could be considered a signature hole.

Course conditions were awful. GPS in the cart didn’t work. Bunkers were concrete. Weeds growing on the greens. Overall - this was the worst course conditions I’ve ever played. I wouldn’t play this course again if they paid me.
The courses in bad shape
Course is in bad shape and poorly maintained, fairways and greens have no grass GPS in cart don't work.
not ehat it used to be
First time playing here in couple years. Greens are very bumpy with a lot of weeds, Fairways very dry and hard. Traps very good but overall I was disappointed
Poor conditions
This course rates as one of the worse courses in the area. Don't water hardly at all and most sprinklers don't work. Won't play again and i think they should pay you to play.Seems like they are going bankrupt.
Charlotte Harbor
Not what I thought it should be only difference I seen in a year was the sand traps, other than that I thought the course was in bad shape! For the money!!!
Played this course before and it has taken a backslide. For $85.00 I was sorely disappointed with course conditions, most prominently the greens and fairways. Hardpan fairways with little grass and no rough are not acceptable conditions. Add dormant greens hard as cement with a stimp above 12 and this course was not a pleasurable playing experience. I had brought a friend visiting from the northeast and truthfully, I was embarrassed.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the course gps functioned well enough ( until it gave out on the 18th). Even the layout is fine with lots of water coming into play. But, changing the name to Charlotte Harbor “National” from Bobcat Trail falls short of providing value for the money. I realize we are in season here and so rates reflect that. But, no justification for the greens fee exists here. I won’t be playing this course again, regardless of the rate.
golfscot
Course in poor condition. Grass very patchy. Fairways hard. Ball rolled and rolled to the water on most holes. Greens burned out and bumpy.
Beautiful layout and very nice staff but We will not return.
Course Maintenance?
Greens and fairways we're playable but could use some standard maintenance like water and aeration.
A cow pasture
Its Brown everywhere. . The owner refuses to water the course, both farway and greens. Weeds are growing everywhere because they don't care. He should sell it to someone who has pride in it because, for him its all about cutting costs.. what a shame!!
Bobcat trail/ charlottle national
Avoid this course. Greens are in terrible shape very hard to putt. Fairways burned out, basically routine maintenance is not being done. I played this awhile back when it was Bobcat trail and it was in great shape. New owners seem to not care. Pro shop was virtually empty, staff at restaurant was late so had to wait to get a drink before the round. AVOID PLAYING HERE FOR WHAT THEY ARE CHARGING , they should lower the price to $25 or sell the place
Very Poor Condition
I had played this course before and condition was never great but this last time playing it the course is is bad shape, hardly no grass on the fairways and the greens are the worst greens I've played all winter down here in Florida. The course needs a lot of TLC to bring it back. Will not be back to play this course anytime soon, I am surprised they are still playing on this course due to its condition.
Crying out for water
I thought it was a shame to see the coarse in such bad condition. It was one of the nicest coarsest around a few years back.. it appears to be getting lots of play and the price to play is not reflected in the condition.. hopefully something good will happen. Golf is supposed to be play on grass not dirt.. I wish I could leave a better review
Please water me
We have played six times this month. Greens are really dry and burned out. They started to green alitlle when we had a couple of rains. Now they are getting brown and bumpy again. Good track just needs some water. Pace is usually slow. Hospitality cart girl is great! The main reason we play here is proximity to our house
I can't condemn the superintedant, I don't know what he has to work with.
