Olde Sycamore Golf Club

First time playing this course and it was a true delight. Fairways lined by tall trees and a layout that made me think hard about most shots.

They gave me a yardage book when I checked in, which was extremely helpful, especially off the tees. I played the Blue tees, which took the driver out of my hands about 50% of the time. Will try the tips next time.

Overall a very enjoyable round. I will definitely be back and may make this my primary course to play.

Cost vs condition, just doesn't make sense. Premium price for mediocre greens and fairways. Other courses I've played of late, greens are perfect or very close. At sycamore they have a fair bit of a different type of grass taking over the greens, the greens were very slow. Public course so they contend with people not fixing pitch marks. Won't be playing here again anytime soon. Love the layout of the course.

I love this golf course. My all-time favorite. The course is usually in excellent condition. For the average player it is fun to navigate. Not too hard, not too easy. The people who run the facility are top notch and highly professional. Hats off the Greg and Clayton! I don't think anyone would regret giving this course a try.

If you play the right tees for your ability you will have a great time. If you don’t, watch out.

The course is beautiful right now with the blooming azaleas. Greens punched recently - pace is just too slow. A 5 hour round has happened to us the last 2 times we’ve played. No Marshall has on the course this time.

Excellent neighborhood course! The course is well-maintained, has a great neighborhood layout, and you can get in and get it out fairly quickly. It’s her favorite place to play routinely in the Charlotte area.

Stopped playing here because of the horrible greens. They have bent grass and keep them saturated in the summer and no one repairs ball marks. Its early in the year but the greens were good today and although they look shaggy they were pretty fast.

Played shortly after the greens were aerated and the grass is still in the process of getting green, but overall conditions were good considering. Short course with a lot of dog-legs, so it requires a lot irons off tees (especially the front 9). Staff was friendly. Will play again later in the season as it is a fun course, but I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite in the area.

I told myself I wasn't going to play this course after playing here at the end of February when it was overcrowded and sopping wet, but I decided to give it another try because I got a reasonable price on the tee time. The dynamic pricing the course uses is good if you're a single player that can go out in the middle of the afternoon on a Monday, not so great on a weekend when you're trying to book a foursome and you're overpaying.

The course was in much better shape this time. No wet spots (would hope not since it hasn't rained in two days) and the greens were recently punched, but rolled pretty fair for the most part. The inconsiderate players ruin the course by not fixing pitch marks on the greens and not raking bunkers. Several groups let me play through, so I got done with my round in three hours, so I can't complain about pace of play. The last time I played on a weekend was a disaster though.

Definitely don't play here after heavy rain, and pick and choose your times wisely to avoid overpaying and avoiding a logjam.

Played a Saturday morning round and already felt like the green fees are about $15-$20 too high for this location and course and then I was informed by staff member that I had to pay another $10 for my wife to ride with me in the cart even though there was not even a fourth in our group.

Outside of overcharging, the course is in great condition. The greens rolled true and are soft and receptive to approach shots. The only rub on the conditions is how short the rough is. Your ball rolls faster through the rough than the fairway so no buffer whatsoever if you land near a hazard.

Tee sheet was definitely full but pace of play remained reasonable throughout round.

Course was in great shape. Greens were punched a few weeks ago but were rolling very well today. All parts of the course looked good.
