Conditions you’d have in nightmares
Greens were in horrendous shape. So we’re the fairways. Drainage needs to be improved there is standing water all over the course.

Nice course
It was my first time playing the course and I'll definitely be back. The staff was friendly and helpful. Shout out to Clayton in the pro shop. The fairways were very soggy from the rain which made it longer than a dry course.The ruff didn't penalize errant shots. The greens were smooth and fast. Maybe because it's winter.

Soggy mess
Course was nice to play however there was too much water on the course after the rain.

No Winter Rates?
Even though the course was very muddy due to recent weather I do enjoy this course. Only complaint green fees were $70 which would think was a little high for January. Shouldn't there be a winter rate?

Lousy course conditions
This is the worst in shape course in the area. Always muddy, greens always bumpy & pot marked, sand is minimal in traps and inconsistent. Price is ridiculous for what you get.

3 hour front 9!???!
Olde Sycamore usually has frost delays in the winter time due to their bank grass greens. This is no excuse for it taking three hours to play nine holes as there is no Ranger on the course enforcing pace of play the slow fat foursome in front of us was three holes behind. It will be a while before I come back due to this ridiculous pace of play.

Former Favorite Falling out of My Rotation
It was hit and wait for all 18 holes ....not an exaggeration. Carts on path and some crazy pin placements contributed to slow play but a 5h15m round is no fun. Very damp course and spots of severe muddiness. Some fairway had standing water even though it hadn’t rained in days. The track is normally a favorite of mine. Beautiful layout and very playable. But after an underwhelming experience I think I’ll drop it from the rotation for a while. On plus side, the issues they had with the greens in the Fall seem to be resolved.

Golf carts are trash
Our golf cart died on us and when we told them they said they knew they were bad and are waiting on replacements. Why would you let golfers out? Argued with me about a rain check or refund. Avoid avoid

Old Sycamore
Unfortunately in December you will face frost delays which they should anticipate. They did shotgun (hole 13) start us to get out in the course with minimal delay, however when we came back to around to finish the last 3 holes there was 4 groups waiting to tee off (afternoon tee times). So the round ended. At 15 holes which was disappointing.
Course was very wet but again it’s December and will normally face these conditions. Great layout.

It was a little wet, and that would be my only complaint as far as irrigation issues.

Pace of play awful
Almost 3 hours to play nine holes is unacceptable there was no Marshall on the course speeding up the pace of play that we saw

First time....will be back
There are a lot of options in the Charlotte area but Old Sycamore is definitely a must place. The course is in great condition and the staff could not be more friendly.

Trash
Slowest pace of play ever, on the carts it says “MAX 15 minutes per hole” it took 15 for the people in front of me to find there balls. Slower than paint drying. Greens are fast. Staff is whatever. The golf cart I had had no charge on it, was very annoying going 1mph in my cart the entire time. I bought 18, I left after 9. Hot garbage of a course.

Short Grass
I enjoy the Course but like most courses the Bermuda fairways are cut too tight. I know it is good for the energy to go to the roots in the winter but I wish all the courses would keep the dormant Bermuda grass at an inch or so.... WHY do you keep it so close cut????
