Tough Course
Challenging course with good layout. Course still has winter conditions.

Terrible greens
This course has a great layout but the greens are in terrible shape. There are multiple types of grass on the greens as well as bare spots. The fairways don’t drain properly so expect cart path only to be the rule rather than the exception.

Disaster & wont change
Course is as expensive as any in the Charlotte area that isn’t private and has no care in the world if your round takes 6 hours. Swamp conditions & no waiver / reduction in price. I won’t ever be returning.

Great course but 4:50 is way too long!
Course is in good shape! Super friendly staff. I wish the Marshall had asked the group in front of us to speed up - 4:50 is way too long for a round - and the group was not keeping up to the one in front of them. Otherwise - good experience.

Round the bend
Course has so many doglegs and the fairways and greens are like concrete.

Jumping in on No. 10
When I made the turn the course superintendent / pro Chapman and another golfer had just hit their balls. They did let me play through but I would have enjoyed catching my breath at the turn. When Management can not follow their own rules it sets a bad example. Olde Sycamore is no longer one of my first choices in golf.

Maintenance needed
I have played Olde Sycamore a number of times and today might have been the worst course conditions I have ever seen. I completely understand that up till the past week we have been deluged almost by rain and drainage may be an issue but there was practically NO fairway whatsoever, greens were about 4 on scale off 1-10, and the price should have not been that high for a Thursday afternoon round with those conditions. I feel it's going to be quite some time before I take that chance again. Truly sad about this because I have enjoyed this course tremendously over the years.

A Springlike day in a NC winter
The temperature was an excellent 69-70 degrees on the course with gentle breezes to challenge your play. the course was cart part only because of the previous rain days but it did not hinder play. Agreed lift and play with the others in our 4 some solved those challenges. The course played well and I made friends which makes for a great round at Old Sycamore. Golf Course. It's a course favorite for the Challenge it places on your game, with its layout of undulating fairways, slopes and hills.
