The Currituck Club

My son in law and I played here on 7/12/2017 and were disappointed by the conditions. I have played here at least 2 dozen times over the years vacationing at OBX and today was the worst of all, last year wasn't very good either. We were told before we teed off 2 tee boxes were under repair, when in fact it was more like 5-6. Most of the tee boxes were a mess including the signature hole 15 .....all dirt and weeds. The greens were slow and their was evidence of wear and tear due to new sod that was in need of water. Golfers go play the Pointe, you wont be disappointed.

While on vacation we decided to make reservations and play. We found some Tee Boxes as previously eaten up by the cinch bugs and nothing but roots remaining.

We were told that the greens had been aerated 10 days previously and found them to be slow, as the ball putted would stop on a down hill slope. The top dressing was still evident and slowing up our putts. I would not recommend this course until time past and the tee boxes were worked on. Was it worth $100, No I think not.

pro shop was nice, but had to wait on a "member" that rambled on for several minutes about nothing to assert his importance when all i wanted to do was to check in.

the course had a callaway club fitter on the range and i tried to talk to them about hitting some of their clubs but they were more interested in hobnobbing with their "member" buddies than servicing "others."

clearly i am not a member but still the treatment of your non-members shows your clubs true colors.

The course was in excellent condition! The staff was very attentive and the food was great.

Have placed course many times in past, but not in last three years. Everything was generally good. Layout good, views fantastic, however, I remember course being in perfect condition. Some thin areas in fairways and many tee boxes had bare spots. Not quite up to old standards, but still a great course. I would always recommend to any golfer.

Really like this course. The nicest one on the banks. Greens were just a little rough but I guess that's the best they can do with the conditions.

Great course. White tees about 5800 yards. Course and greens in fantastic shape. A hot deal of $25 Was a great bargain. Plan on playing tomorrow, same price.

Course just fit my game. Hazards galore but very fair.

I'm a big advocate of being able to hit and find it, and as long as you don't find the water hazards on the this course, you get to do just that with its wide fairways and excellent conditioning. There's a nice variety of holes, and while it isn't too difficult overall if you play the right tees (we played a combo), there's certainly plenty of challenge on certain holes. In a nutshell, Rees Jones gives you some birdie opportunities, but there are some difficult stretches as well that you need to negotiate to keep your round together.

Very fun course to play. In another few weeks the course should be in great shape.

The first time through the track proved challenging, but not overly so. This course has some difficult holes with water or deep sand traps but it also had some fun birdie holes. The course was in fantastic shape for April 2017. Greens rolled true and the grass was in pristine condition. The staff at the course were very friendly and accommodating. You can get through a round in under 4 hours, so pace of play is great. Tee off at 1pm - eating dinner with family by 6pm. Search for online specials or ask the staff for multi-day rates We ended up playing the course 5 times in one week while staying in OBX. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed everything but the sand traps! Excellent and gorgeous course!
