A heck of a good time!
No an overly long course...but, what a challenge! Not a local, but understand that this course is rebounding nicely from some troubling times. Can't speak to past issues, but this course is in great shape and improving daily!! Very challenging layout.
Kings Grant
Course was in good condition for February. The greens were fast. The staff were great as always. I really enjoy playing this course.
The Place to play in Fayetteville
This is a course that is that will challenge your skills. Do not let the course yardage fool you. This is a shot-makers course. If you wander too far astray from clear lines of approach to the green, you may pay dearly for your area. This a fun course to play. Management is terrific.
This course is a challenge
From a year ago on temporary to the great conditions of the greens now cut down trees and low brush. Drainage issues have been addressed.
Great shape.
I f you want to enjoy a round of golf, great staff, chalanging course but fun to play, course has made great return to formal condition in last 8 months and more to come
Getting Better by the Day
This course was awful two years ago and it has truly risen from the ashes. I can't begin to tell you how many great improvements have been made in the past year, especially in the past 6 months. At this rate of improvements, the course will be top shelf in another year. If you haven't played at Kings Grant in a while, then you will be in for a treat. Enjoy.
Most improved course in the area
I have played this course so many times that I can't count them all, although it's been months since my last round here. The turnaround has been exceptional!
First off the greens are the most improved part of the course, but weeds are virtually nonexistent, there have been many trees, underbrush cleared out on numerous holes.
The course looks clean and the streams and creek beds are much cleaner too! Major ditch repair on hole #13 is very impressive. Numerous cart paths have been repaired.
The tee boxes have been overseeded with ryegrass and is certainly aestetically pleasing and playable.
There are three holes that have drainage issues and I also understand that they have scheduled them all to be corrected within 30-60 days.
3 months ago, this course could not score a 1 on the rating scale!!! A friend of mine suggested to play it and I was a little apprehensive to do so but very glad I did. It is reminiscant of the Grant of old.
Great membership and positive attitudes are clearly a winning combination here. I am very happy to return to this hidden gem of a local track and see the resurgence of this course.
Keep up the great work and drive on!!!
Best Layout in this area by far.
Greens have made a 180 degree turnaround since the current superintendent took over. New ownership plans to invest significant capital in 2019 to add more amenities, improve clubhouse and replace the current irrigation system. Cant beat the value!!!
Greatly improved course
This course was closed for 6 months three years ago. Since reopening with new owners, a lot of work has been done making the course as good as any in this area. Challenging course and quiet environment to play in.
Great layout, poor management
This course has an awesome layout with the possibility of being a great course. I think it is poorly managed and that really takes away from what the course could be. Personally I feel that if they would get rid of Mike Monk and get someone in there that actually has a clue of what is going on that the course could start to make a turn around for the better. Of course with that being said, everyone knows that the basis of course operation is the all mighty dollar, but getting rid of Mike Monk would help tremendously.
Such a great layout....so bad condition
The layout here is amazing and is the only reason I enjoyed my round. This has to be in the top three layouts I've ever played. It also is the worst conditioned course I've ever played. Golf carts were great, but aside from the cart and layout..there is nothing good to say about this course. Whomever designed it, tall Carolina pine tree lined fairways, water placed in strategic spots, the drives and approaches are different are every hole...truly took the time to think about every shot instead of just slapping a course together.
In its hayday with great conditions I would have considered possible the funnest course I've ever played. This was my first time going there but that's how much potential the place has.
Unfourtanetly the conditions are so bad it's not worth the $12 I paid to play.
So dissapointed.

Please give us another shot. Tell staff that CB offered a round for cart fee only in exchange for a fresh review. Thanks
Great value for play
This course is under new management and has been making leaps and bounds for improvement. The greens are nice and the course is great for casual players. The off course amenities could use some help. The staff are great and memberships are reasonable.
This course has gone downhill
Staff was friendly upon check in. Holes are not marked well as the course has been redesigned. No grass ,dirt and sand. Greens are ok at best. Overpaid for value of this course!!
Please give us another try. Tell staff that CB offered a round for cart fee only for a fresh review. Thanks
Worst course and customer service
Worst greens ive ever played on. I couldnt tell the difference in the rough and the fairways. Scheduled a tee time for my wife, a friend and myself at 3 pm. Both me and my friend had our kids, a 1yr old and a 2yr old. Completed 9 holes in 3hrs and the owner and manager wouldn't give us a rain check on the back nine because he claimed we should have been done with 18 holes in 3 hrs. Dont trust the decent reviews, because i tried to give the course the benefit of the doubt and i was wrong.
Please come give another try. Tell the staff that CB promised a round for cart fee only in exchange for a fresh review. Thank you.
Bad Greens
If you are a serious golfer and care about score well this is not the place for you.. yes it is and easy course and you can 100% go low here but nothing is more frustrating than greens that you have no idea what is going to happen throughout the putt.. and thats what you have here. talked to the some of the grounds crew, really nice guys, they said by next fall they will be rolling much better.. we will see
You should give the course another try. Tell the staff that CB offered you around for cart fee only in exchange for a fresh review. Thanks
Good overall Play. Greens need work.
Very challenging course. Lots of elevation change. Overall very well kept but greens are in severe need of work. Staff is great.
Green to the Rescue
Some tee boxes and greens horrible fair ways, bunkers, pretty good I cant tell if there cleaning up course from all the brush laying around the course. Although cost of playing was very low now I understand why. Very disappointing to say the least.
God day of golf
All in all was a good day of golf, but the paring for this, being unforeseen, can be challenging. We were paired with two that were practically pro am. It was embarrassing to play with because I had my son with me and we felt bad for slowing them down. They ended up going ahead but maybe consider teaming up with like players or not at all with a bad mix like that.
Kings Grant
I like the re-ordering of the course, but the new number 1 is tough with all the water.
The greens were really bumpy, hard to putt
This review was written by disgruntled ex-member that was dismissed due to his behavior and language. Management offered him an opportunity to meet discuss his situation and he choose not to attend meeting. Has personal vendetta against the General manager.
