Founders Club, hole 18 Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 11/16/2018
It will be nicer the second time
The course was in really good condition considering the time of year (early May). Having no "local" knowledge I lost 3 golf balls on 18 holes from driving through the fairway and into the water running along the hole. It's a nice layout with plenty of water and waste bunkers. One point to keep in mind, the fairways are "raised". There was minimal rough and from there sloped (dropped) into either water or waste bunkers.
Beautiful and fun course.
We will be coming back for sure. Lovely layout and many challenging holes. Best greens I have played in a long time. Would highly recommend. Very friendly and nice staff.
Decent value for the money
Course was in ok shape. Been dry here without much rain and the greens were nice. Rest of course was kinda crispy. The course marshall was a little weird in that just before the turn he barked at us and told us to speed up. Seems odd since they have a sign at check in that says expected pace of play is 4 and a half hours for 18 holes and we were about to make the turn under two hours. We played 18 holes right at four hours. Also, please know there is no driving range, but rather a batting cage type set up that you basically get loose in by hitting off of mats and into a net.
Please stop ball
Dry as a popcorn toot. No way to stop the ball once it rolls off the fairway! No grass growing off the fairway, Just burnt grass and hard packed sand called cart paths. Inconsistent fairways between holes, that look like another completely different course. Why? Bunkers do not have machined sand. You hit off flat packed sand or rake and place to give it a try. Come on man! Price to play was way too high for a course in this condition. Stay away.
Better than expected
Course is excellent for the price. The layout is through a neighborhood which is different rarely do you see other holes. Pace was good conditions good overall satisfied given the price.
The Founders Club at Pawleys Island
I played The Founders Club at Pawleys Island with three friends on 03/24/2026. This course is a old style parkland golf course with tree-lined fairways, natural waste areas, water. The entire course was visually appealing, and you very seldom see another hole on the course. It has an interesting layout where you cross a road thirteen times to get to the next tee. The course is really spread out and there is quite a distance between the greens and next tee. The scenery is second to none. Course is absolutely beautiful and a great place to play. One of the best I’ve played in Myrtle Beach. Course conditions were fantastic with a challenging layout with tight fairways and lots of water. The rough was still dormant which gave an interesting contrast with the deep green of the fairway. The course was in excellent shape and the greens rolled true. They have one of the best sets of par threes that I have ever played on one course. The entire staff from the bag drop to the restaurant, to the pro shop were extremely nice and professional. This was my first time playing and I would definitely come back.
Course was fantastic. Especially for end of March Golf. Starter was an amazing man, had a good chat with him. Course staff was friendly!
Felt like I was in Scotland!
What a great course! Excellent value, friendly staff and the course was beautiful!
Pace of play was off but otherwise
Great layout, nice challenge and length (whites are over 6400 yds), greens were consistent and rolled well. 5h14’ for our round was the downside with a 12:42 tee off.
