Great Course with a back 9 like no other
This course is as nice of a public course as there is anywhere in this area. Greens are beautiful, back 9 with view of the lake are incredible and pace of play was terrific. Recommend to anyone
Course is in great shape
This course is a gem, well worth the drive. Greens are the best we have played all year. The play was slow today but normally it’s good. The best state course in GA and the staff is awesome, the views of the lake on the back side are fantastic.
Great views
We play this as our go to for the scenery and the value it’s a state park and they are excellent ambassadors for their state. We are from sc.
Beautiful course on Lake Russel! Challenging yet very scoreable from the whites if you’re accurate with the driver.
Room for Improvement
The staff are friendly and welcoming…the course is great and the greens are in great condition. Sadly, the pace of play is abysmal. They need a ranger on busy days to help with pace of play. This shouldn’t be an 5-5.5 hour round ever. Also, no one is refilling the coolers on the course. Every cooler on the back was empty. On 90* days, do better.
Such a fun course...excellent condition and played as a 3some in 4 hours. If I lived here, I would play Arrowhead Pointe twice a week!
wonderful course
I highly recommend this course for these reasons... reasonable price (especially for seniors)
Great golf course design that rewards good shots and penalizes poor shots.
Very interesting golf holes. Many demand thought and good execution.
Back nine is just amazing. Several Holes along Lake Russell.
Cons are.. slow pace of play and worn out golf carts that frequently break down on course.
Worth the Drive!
Very good golf course. It is about an Hour & half from Augusta. It is worth the drive.
Layout has some very challenging hole and some straight forward holes.
Condition of the course is very good.
Greens were smooth but a little fuzzy. I believe later in the year these greens could get lightening fast.
The Staff were fantastic!
Excellent course
Beautiful day, Course Conditions: Excellent, Greens fast and true. Pace of play: Front 9 1H40m, Back 9 2H 45m, caught a slow foursome. Tips: Do NOT hit driver on #9 - blind water hazard lies straight ahead. Cart electronics had random distance errors, so use your own rangefinder. Course needs to add markers where to enter and exit fairway on carts.
Golf&nature
The views are incredible. I like to think of it as Pebble Beach east.
M. J. and posse are terrific!
PERFECT! A hidden gem. Not only is the course beautiful and peaceful, M.J. and his staff all did wonderful. We did the golf package: cabin was great with a splendid view of the lake, breakfasts were great, and the special touches M.J. has instituted (i.e., special cart signage, sleeve of balls and a Pointe ball marker....NICE! We couldn't give the total experience a higher rating. We have already booked ahead for Thanksgiving.
Great
I love it down there. It’s great scenery, quiet, and relaxed. NOBODY is in a hurry. It’s a hour drive and I’m thinking of making it my weekly course.
Best Conditions in March
Played March 13,2026. Greens are in perfect condition. Overall course conditions are the best I’ve played this early in the season. Can’t wait to play again when it’s a bit warmer. Fairways, tee boxes in great shape. Layout is challenging and fun. Pretty much can hit driver off most holes. The Pointe is beautiful at the lake. Staff are extremely friendly. Checked me in, loaded my cart and brought my cart key. Introductions to others in my group. You will unplug to play here as cell service is spotty for some carriers.
