River Ridge Golf Club is one of the finest public golf courses in Raleigh. The course sprawls across 100 acres in the heart of the Triangle, it's an easy 15-minute drive from downtown Raleigh. The lush green of the course contrasts beautifully with the Carolina blue skies. Mature trees frame most of the holes and there are a few lakes that come into play. The rolling terrain provides plenty of ups and downs throughout the golf course. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course's signature hole is the par-4 fifth, a 375-yard hole that can be conquered with smart play. Try to keep your long iron or fairway wood to the right of the fairway, which will give you a short iron approach into the green.

Fast, undulating greens.
Interesting layout well kept. Some holes have narrow landing areas making club selection important. The undulating greens were a drastic chsnge to the flat coastal courses I played for the last month. Add the speed of nearly dormant fall greens and you quickly find out if you putt as well as you think you do. I'd play it again.

Course in in great shape!
Greens were rolling very nice and true. The course was is great shape overall, front 9 played quick but the back 9 took a while as we ran into several VERY slow groups that were hitting multiple shots and not allowing folks to play through.
