About
River Ridge Golf Club is one of the finest public golf courses in Raleigh. The course sprawls across 100 acres in the heart of the Triangle, it's an easy 15-minute drive from downtown Raleigh. The lush green of the course contrasts beautifully with the Carolina blue skies. Mature trees frame most of the holes and there are a few lakes that come into play. The rolling terrain provides plenty of ups and downs throughout the golf course. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course's signature hole is the par-4 fifth, a 375-yard hole that can be conquered with smart play. Try to keep your long iron or fairway wood to the right of the fairway, which will give you a short iron approach into the green.

Nice layout
I really like the layout of this course. The course was in good condition. The pace of play was good. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Good course for the value.
Great Course
Great layout, Great Fairways, Awesome Greens, They had a beverage cart out there which was nice and they came by 4 times during my 18 holes. You get a small bucket for the range if you want, chipping green with bunkers and putting green. Will definitely play again when I’m back in town!
River Ridge Golf Club
Great course with a lot of variety of holes. Excellent condition. Greens fast but consistent. Staff is very a friendly. Fun to play.
Great experience
Nice course with friendly staff and good pace of play. Greens were fun! Definitely will go back. Some complain about no water on course, but restaurant provides ice cups and water and be weave cart circles sa few times. Ranges balls come with greens fees. Enjoy!!
Still a great course, but bumpy greens, slow pace, and no water
Course was in overall good condition. Always glad to get a small bucket of balls included.
Were advised at check-in that the greens had been punched about three weeks ago -- more noticeable on some than other but generally bumpy overall as opposed to their normal class. Tee time after 4pm on a Sunday with plenty of time to get 18 in, but the pace was really slow with waits on just about every shot. They were on top of things at #1 with the starter, but we never saw a ranger on the course to help with pace of play.
Also never saw a water cooler on the course. Almost positive that they were there pre-Covid. Hoped to get a drink at the turn around 645pm, but the snack bar was already closed. No water fountain in sight. Not even enough clearance to fill up water bottles in the bathroom sink.
Not their best day but still coming back.
Excellent Conditions
It's a great course! Fairways and greens are green and full oof grass, maybe too much on the tee box.
Slow and Bumpy
Greens in final stages of healing from aeration. Dried out, not cut, bumpy, and slower than normal. Pace was great, under 4 hours on a Saturday afternoon with groups behind and in front of us. Wouldn’t say it’s worth the normal rate until the greens are in better condition, though.
Undefeated. Never lost.
Continues to be the best course in the Raleigh area in my opinion. Another great round.
Great course - needs water
My favorite public course in Raleigh. Amazing challenge and uses all clubs in the bag. The only thing is they don’t have water on the course which is ridiculous. I played in 110+ realfeel weather and luckily prepared, but would have been upset if I didn’t. At least wendall gives free water bottles..
Disappointing day
Very disappointed that we did not know we could only play the front nine because they were working on the course that day. We had made our teatime a week in advance it was very disappointing that we didn’t know ahead of time
