About
River Ridge Golf Club is one of the finest public golf courses in Raleigh. The course sprawls across 100 acres in the heart of the Triangle, it's an easy 15-minute drive from downtown Raleigh. The lush green of the course contrasts beautifully with the Carolina blue skies. Mature trees frame most of the holes and there are a few lakes that come into play. The rolling terrain provides plenty of ups and downs throughout the golf course. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course's signature hole is the par-4 fifth, a 375-yard hole that can be conquered with smart play. Try to keep your long iron or fairway wood to the right of the fairway, which will give you a short iron approach into the green.

Great staff and course!
The course has a fun and player friendly layout. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The course conditions are good and the greens are fast. Pace of play is average could be better. Over all I always enjoy playing this course.

Top 3 Public/Private Course in Raleigh
I play here as often as possible. Great layout, very well maintained fairways and slick but true greens. Staff is always friendly and accommodating and while pace of play can get slow at times, I'd say on average the playing time is 3:45 to 4:15. On the weekends it's probably closer to 4:30-4:45. Love the course and the elevation changes. Natural landscapes are beautiful with streams running through and natural rock formations. I always see wildlife out on the course. I'd rank the top 3 public/private courses as: 1 - Lonnie Poole, 2 - Preserve at Jordan Lake, 3 - River Ridge.

Great value, great time
River Ridge is a run course with hospitality at the top of their mission. From the moment we arrived service was top shelf. The course is in great condition, especially those fast greens. Pace of play was well managed and barely a thought for the day. We will most definitely return and soon.

Great condition
I play just about once a week around the Raleigh area, and by far this was one of the best courses and conditions in all of Raleigh this summer. Big shout out to the staff and crew that keeps the course looking so great! ( If you ask me, they all deserve raises!!)…. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to being back soon.

Course was in good condition, greens recovered nicely from aeration and are rolling quick.
