About
River Ridge Golf Club is one of the finest public golf courses in Raleigh. The course sprawls across 100 acres in the heart of the Triangle, it's an easy 15-minute drive from downtown Raleigh. The lush green of the course contrasts beautifully with the Carolina blue skies. Mature trees frame most of the holes and there are a few lakes that come into play. The rolling terrain provides plenty of ups and downs throughout the golf course. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course's signature hole is the par-4 fifth, a 375-yard hole that can be conquered with smart play. Try to keep your long iron or fairway wood to the right of the fairway, which will give you a short iron approach into the green.

Pace of play
The course conditions were good as always, but the pace of play was the worst I seen in a good while. The ranger was trying to move people along but several groups holding up play. The staff is always very friendly and helpful just need to address the pace of play.

Nice Course
First time playing here and since greens had been punched they had a cheaper rate so can’t hold that against them. Course had a nice layout and staff was very friendly. Would highly recommend and I will be playing there again. One of the nicer courses I’ve played in Raleigh.

Great day with dad and a friend
We got caught in a downpour on the 4th hoke, summertime weather. Next few holes had to move the ball around, expected. But within an hour the course soaked it up. That's why I keep coming back to river ridge for years. Magnificent conditions. Greens, fairways are always perfect, tough to catch a bad lie
River Ridge great course just down the road
Excellent course, friendly staff and beautiful conditions. Little slow but course was full, needs a ranger to keep pace of play but we had a great time playing this amazing course.

Love the layout!!
Always love playing this course. The layout of the course is fun and challenging. The conditions are better than most of the course after the Covid19 layoff. They have a great practice facility too which I need some practice after my round today. Always a great value to play this golf course.

The best value in the area
This course has it all. Great layout, its in great condition now that it has started raining again, the greens are challenging and you can play in about 4 hours. Pace of play is my prime reason for picking a golf course. I simply cannot stand to be on the course for 5-6 hours. And thats what you get with most of the public courses in this area. At River Ridge you get a very well maintained golf with a diverse layout without waiting on every shot.

Consistently good course/ pace of play not great
Play here fairly often. Course in pretty good shape. . Not sure why folks can’t play a little faster. Shouldn’t take over 4.5 hrs to play 18. But overall a good day on a good course.

First time back in months
Wide open following a tournament. Great pace (3.5 hour round). Excellent course conditions. Good company. Even the range balls seem to have improved. Fun and challenging layout. Already booked another round.

Slow and bumpy
I was disappointed in the slow and bumpy greens they had today. I’m not sure if it’s the tough weather we’ve been having or bad greenskeeper. But I still love the layout so I will be back.
