About
River Ridge Golf Club is one of the finest public golf courses in Raleigh. The course sprawls across 100 acres in the heart of the Triangle, it's an easy 15-minute drive from downtown Raleigh. The lush green of the course contrasts beautifully with the Carolina blue skies. Mature trees frame most of the holes and there are a few lakes that come into play. The rolling terrain provides plenty of ups and downs throughout the golf course. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course's signature hole is the par-4 fifth, a 375-yard hole that can be conquered with smart play. Try to keep your long iron or fairway wood to the right of the fairway, which will give you a short iron approach into the green.

Consistently good course/ pace of play not great
Play here fairly often. Course in pretty good shape. . Not sure why folks can’t play a little faster. Shouldn’t take over 4.5 hrs to play 18. But overall a good day on a good course.

First time back in months
Wide open following a tournament. Great pace (3.5 hour round). Excellent course conditions. Good company. Even the range balls seem to have improved. Fun and challenging layout. Already booked another round.

Slow and bumpy
I was disappointed in the slow and bumpy greens they had today. I’m not sure if it’s the tough weather we’ve been having or bad greenskeeper. But I still love the layout so I will be back.

Playing an Old Standby
I've played River Ridge many times and the course never disappoints. Good location, friendly staff, nice track and moderately challenging course.
We played on a Thursday AM and the pace of play was very good. My only negative comment, and slightly negative, is that the greens need to be watered. We noted several brown patches on a couple of the holes.
Looking forward to getting back again to an old standby!

Fast round
We got around the course in amazing time. Course was in great shape and greens were super fast. This course has one of the best layouts in the area.

Good Value within 30 minutes of Downtown Raleigh
This is the fourth time I have played this course, as I only moved to Raleigh a few months ago. Pace of play is usually good, although I can't recall ever seeing a Ranger on the course. Greens are consistent, but not as fast as some other courses in the area. Not exactly the kind of course you would want to introduce to a young person interested in learning golf just starting out. You use almost every club in the bag. I will return as it is a very good value, the staff is efficient and polite, and the facility is clean and well-maintained.
