About
River Ridge Golf Club is one of the finest public golf courses in Raleigh. The course sprawls across 100 acres in the heart of the Triangle, it's an easy 15-minute drive from downtown Raleigh. The lush green of the course contrasts beautifully with the Carolina blue skies. Mature trees frame most of the holes and there are a few lakes that come into play. The rolling terrain provides plenty of ups and downs throughout the golf course. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course's signature hole is the par-4 fifth, a 375-yard hole that can be conquered with smart play. Try to keep your long iron or fairway wood to the right of the fairway, which will give you a short iron approach into the green.

I have played river ridge many times. It’s always a good time and the free small bag of range balls is nice. If you’re thinking about playing here just do it you won’t regret it!

Pace of Play
This would have been an excellent review if it did not take 4 hours and 40 minutes to play and I played solo. There is no Marshall so players take their time. The course itself has a lot of challenges and the greens are hard and fast with many curves and undulations. If you don’t mind a slow pace then you will enjoy this course.

Crispy
Even with some rain the night before, the fairways and greens are so crispy right now they are almost unplayable in the wind.

nice day, pace was pretty much spot on, Greens were not as fast as they usually are, fairways were hard, course could use some rain.

Almost perfect
The course is getting better every time I go there, probably because the weather is drying out the course. The only thing that gets me frustrated is that the course allows 5somes. Maybe the staff doesn't know about it, but three of us were behind them for the last 9 holes.
Other than that - a great day and place to play a round.

Great Course
New to Raleigh, have purposely played many of the different courses. This was by far the pretties course and one of the most challenging.
Course condition was very good, again better than the others in the area I played.

Great Course
First time playing here. Everything about the round was great. Very fast greens kinda of caught me off guard, you have to think through each shot. Coming from the coast, the elevation changes were very fun to negotiate.

Great layout!
The layout of the course is great! Conditions are on par with this time of year. Fairways and greens coming in nicely. The conditions of the fairway and green side bunkers need some work. I am sure it’s do to the short staffing most golf courses are experiencing. Otherwise a great experience and very friendly staff. Will definitely be back to play again this season!
