About
River Ridge Golf Club is one of the finest public golf courses in Raleigh. The course sprawls across 100 acres in the heart of the Triangle, it's an easy 15-minute drive from downtown Raleigh. The lush green of the course contrasts beautifully with the Carolina blue skies. Mature trees frame most of the holes and there are a few lakes that come into play. The rolling terrain provides plenty of ups and downs throughout the golf course. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course's signature hole is the par-4 fifth, a 375-yard hole that can be conquered with smart play. Try to keep your long iron or fairway wood to the right of the fairway, which will give you a short iron approach into the green.

Fun course, great layout
A most enjoyable golf course! It’s a fair test of GolfAnd the course and the greens are all in great shape. I will be playing here again for sure!
To slow to enjoy!
The pace of play was terrible. The range was closed on a perfect day. No range, slow play and a Marshall no where to be found. Sorry, but there are to many courses where slow play is addressed, just not at RR. Save your $55.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Old Favorite
Been years since I’ve played River Ridge and it was really nice getting back out there. Course was in the best shape I’ve ever seen. Greens were great and rolled fast and true.

Course was in great shape. The greens were ridiculously smooth. Fun round! Would be glad to play here any time!

Where’s the Range balls?
Played this course many of times and one thing I loved was the openness to the public with range balls provided
Not this time - little small bags not more than say 12-15 in each.
Now I didn’t get any because I thought the range is “open” but I seen the bags from other patrons.

I have reviewed this course several times
And I am surprised at how consistent the overall quality of rating i keep giving it. We played as a two some and got around the course in 3 hours and 15 minutes. Admittedly we play fast, but the funny thing was the pro shop guy told us the course was full, but we never had anyone behind us or in front. The course was in great conditions, the greens were fast and true. And the price is right!

Super value course
Always have loved this course. So much fun to play with the different tee boxes. The challenge of each hole and the fun risk reward of a lot of the holes especially the par 5s make the course so much fun. Greens are always in great shape and fun to putt. The warm up facilities are so convenient and nice. Everything is right there with little effort to use. The club house staff is always great and the grill staff always kind and they make the best chicken salad around. I live in apex. But enjoy going over there very much it is one of the best in the Raleigh area for sure.
Just a Great Golf Course
I really enjoy River Ridge. It is close to my home, the staff is great and very helpful, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to play. If you want to enjoy a great round of golf, play it, you'll come back.
