River Ridge Golf Club

Overall good but wish I knew the greens were aerated.

It would be very nice to be notified before I show up that the greens are being aerated. There was no alert on golf now and also they didn’t even lower the prices, so we had to play the back nine twice in a row for full price.

Today was my first time playing this course and it will be my new go-to course! The condition of the course was great, the staff was friendly, and the overall value was great! I would recommend this course to anyone

Nice day. Reasonable course conditions but the group in front of us had no clue about courtesy and pace of play. One player was getting lessons from his partner( 150 yds out) while the other twosome was on the Green

Unacceptable.

Need the ranger to do their job.

Good course though.

The course is beautiful. Great layout. 2 or 3 holes where you need to hit irons of the tee, but otherwise the course is driver-friendly. Greens were in good shape but extremely slow.

Where do I start? The great greens, lush fairways, challenging approaches or just a fantastic course. Paired up with two Jr. High vice pricipals who made the day even better. Can't wait to return. Thank you!

This is my 3rd course that I’ve been to. Loonie Poole and RGA I played at. I would say this is my favorite course so far. Challenging at times but also fun for an intermediate golfer like myself. The course was very well maintained. I don’t think I had one complaint about it. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall great experience.

My husband and I played the course and loved it. New to the area, but our favorite so far. Would definitely recommend and play again. Possibly join.

I’ve played here 4 times the past few months along with 4 or 5 visits to the practice area. It’s very convenient to me from our house on the east side of Raleigh. The range is definitely adequate, all grass. Sometimes the hitting area can get worn out but they put effort into keeping it up. It also has 2 practice greens, one for chipping and a large practice bunker, the other for putting.

You can typically find a friendly starter in the area calling people in from the practice area, as they do include a small bag of range balls, which is a separator among the competition. The staff inside the clubhouse has been hit or miss. A few times I’ve been put off by some rudeness.

The course was in great shape yesterday. The rain hadn’t overly impacted the course. Fairways still had decent roll and the greens were in tremendous shape. Also, there are some massive greens. Be prepared to 3 putt if you don’t hit into the correct tier. The layout is tremendous in my opinion. It’s not driver off of every tee. Hazards and doglegs force you to use different clubs and different shapes to score well. That being said, it’s not impossible either. It’s a nicely balanced course.

Pace of play is a mixed bag like most places. Yesterday we got done in 3:20. I’ve also been there when it’s crowded and ran almost 5 hours.

Love the course greens need help, they were not up to normal standards for this place.

Always enjoy playing at River Ridge and my last round did not dissapoint. Course was in great shape and the greens were fast and rolled true. You can always count on great greens when playing River Ridge.

I recently joined after being at another place for a few years. They’ve done a very good job improving the range...better turf and new range balls.. The bunker and short game area very convenient and also in very good condition. The putting green mirrors the course greens which is a big plus. The staff is simply outstanding and accommodative. The course has a lot of variety with some very challenging holes. Great terrain changes also. It can be a challenge (and I’m a low single digit handicap) but also a fun course. No cookie cutter holes. If you play the back tees bring your A game. But you’ll still enjoy it!!!

I play at river ridge regularly, and thoroughly enjoy the course. I think the layout is great but the greens truly make the course. One suggestion would be to get the fairways and rough a little longer. The course has been playing very firm recently away from the greens. I really enjoy when the greens are dried out and you are able to play very creative shots with backstops, and hitting the right part of the green to funnel the ball towards the pin. The staff is great, and I think business at river ridge has never been better.

Very solid course. One of the best in the Triangle and you can't beat the value. Wish I could be a member.

RR is a fun tract, with a variety of challenging but fair holes. Some tough par 3's and 4's. The greens =held well but were very quick-avoid downhill putts/chips at all costs. The practice range balls are included in the greens fees, which is a nice touch!!

River Ridge has one of the best layouts around. The problem today and recently has been the inconsistency of the greens. The greens are already quick and when they’re top dressed with sand, it makes putting and chipping incredibly difficult.

Love the track and today greens were quick, keep it below the hole if you can. The bunkers had a good amount of sand unlike others in the Raleigh area. Nice practice area with a warm up bag included in price. Definitely keep in the rotation more often.
