Greens punched

The greens had recently been punched the first of the week and were sandy. But still putted pretty well. The rest of the course was in really good shape. The greens should be really good again in a week or so. Really good value at less than 40 bucks. Worth an hour drive to play there at that price.

Fairways and roughs in good condition, Sand traps needed to be deep raked, light covering of sand over hard pack. Greens rolled true, were medium speed, held the approach shot.

Great Course, Great Value

As a fan of the Chasing Scratch podcast, River Bend became a bucket list course to play; if only to experience first hand the course Mike and Eli hold their final major at each year.

The course did not disappoint. For the price, it’s a gem of a golf course, as everything was in great shape and the greens were immaculate.

It has a great layout that makes for an enjoyable but challenging round of golf. Other than a few holes, even the most novice golfers will find the course enjoyable and playable..

A few notes: you can rent clubs, but they’re not fancy. They don’t allow singles when it’s busy, so I had to purchase two spots. They allow walkers, but I don’t think I’d recommend it. The pro shop is very affordable and the concession stand has basic items for sale like hot dogs, pre made sandwiches, and candy bars.

Getting better and better

River Bend is a great local course. The layout is interesting enough. The greens are the best around. And the course is in really good shape for this early in the summer season. The price you pay for the quality you get is outstanding. You won’t find better greens anywhere. Book a round here. You won’t be disappointed
