Maples at Sea Trail Golf Resort and Convention Center

Course in very bad shape -our playing partners said the course had been closed for six months . Not sure why but obviously nothing had been done in terms of maintenance or improvements

Design was very nice. Interesting variety of shots and elevation changes.

Conditions were the worst in my 35+ years of golfing in Myrtle Beach. Greens had worms that were leaving 'castings', mole damage, and bare spots.

Tee areas very thin. Maybe a winter of rest and a good spring will help although it appears they are putting no money into it. No marshalls, beverage cart serving three different courses, restaurant closed.

Until they improve conditions recognize this as a Dan Maples layout (very nice) and conditions that are marginal.

Course condition is horrible. Fairway grass is pathetic. Greens were terrible. We booked this course as one of GolfNow's hot deals, I think we paid $50 each as a hot deal. Knowing the condition now, I would not play for free. I refer to courses in such condition as a goat ranch. My advice to fellow golfers, avoid this course.

The condition was probably the worst i have ever played. With the greens this poor they should have shut the course down. It looks like they have not mowed the greens in over a month. They were un puttable

I played the Sea Trail courses at least 6 times in the past 20 yrs. That is why I was so disappointed this time. While the starter was extremely nice and helpful, the folks inside were simply avg. There was little positive energy or concern for us as a customer exhibited. Course was very dried out which I can understand in July, but the greens were hideous. They had not been cut in days, felt like I was putting in rough. Green speed felt like it was a 5 on stipmeter. They were bumpy and had no control on direction. Very disappointing.

I played this course for the first time. It was a hot & humid midday tee off. The course was in excellent shape. The fairways had plenty of grass and the greens were in good shape.,they were slow but putted true. I did not see any bare spots on the greens. This course is pretty straight forward. The #3 hole is unique in that there is a large tree in the middle of the fairway on the par 3 which you have to hit over. Yardage Markers are scarce. The 150 yard marker is visible but there are no 100 yard markers visible unless you are right on top of it. There are a few holes where signs are scarce as where to proceed to next hole. There are a few holes where you have to carry water either from the tee or on approach shot. Overall it was a good course.

Oldest course at Sea Trail, not as well kept as Byrd and Jones courses. Fun to play, would be very nice if kept in better condition.

Nice course. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Cart paths are a little rough. Good signage was very helpful for first visit. Back nine fairways were greener and appear to be better kept than the front nine. All greens were in good shape. Several picturesque holes. Nice experience. Definitely willl play again.

Design brings some thinking to club selection and shot shaping. Conditions of fairways and bunkers are poor. Though greens are cut long, they run true. Still a pleasure to play.

I have played this course before and found it in lesser condition than usual.

The Maples course is in better shape than the last time I played it. It was a very good value for the money and the pace of play was very good

First time at this course. I'm a novice and the other 3 I was with play all the time and we all agree this is a good course. Wide open with only a little water.

I was very desapointed to the conditions of the course, very dry and the green very slow and bumpy.I do not expect to go back.

The Maples is by far the most challenging of the 3 Sea Trail offerings. The player is met with 1 "just a golf hole" and 17 tough, challenging holes. The round opens with a pretty bland par 5 and then you begin to find out why Dan Maples is so highly regarded.

Unfortunately, at the moment the conditions don't measure up to the design. Mostly thin lies and the greens are VERY thick. In one regard this isn't a terrible thing since if they were as slick as some other courses rounds could take much longer as 4 and 5 putts would be common on the quite challenging greens. Worth playing for the design at the right price (my partner and I paid $23 with GolfNow rewards.) Staff was very nice.

Very disappointing. Course conditions very poor. Very little grass in some fairways. Sand traps very hard. All hard pan for the rough. Actually enjoyed the layout but some holes in bad shape. Finished round and snack bar was already closed at 5 pm. Maybe the other 2 courses at Sea Trail were in better shape. Starter and bag helper very accommodating.

Anywhere off fairways where alot of players end up is all sand-----like playing in the desert. greens and fsiways in good condition. Never pay full price for this course------to many better places for less money
