MetroWest Golf Club
About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

Steadily Coming Back
I am a 26 year old golfer who has live in Dr. Phillips since I was 4. Metrowest was where I learned to play the sport and as a home course I have been up and down with management. Played recently and I have to say, please continue this improvement. There is incredibly noticeable improvement on cuts and greens, bunkers are beautiful, better than most in Orlando. Pace is still an issue, but in time, this can become a 10 min apart tee time venue with huge upside. Price may increase but I want to see the place succeed, especially after all the changes. KEEP GOING!
Course is great shape
I been playing metro west for the last 4 years. I have never seeing the comerse in better shape. I highly recommend this course.
Son had Covid would not let me cancel
Try to call at noon Friday tee time was 8:30 sat
No one answered to take my call to discuss left several messages to please cancel
We enjoy the place but this was ignorant on there part not answering the phone
We are done here sad
It was time to give MetroWest another try
I played the course on Wednesday for the first time in months. I have been quite vocal about my criticism of the course in past posts. First, I would like to kind of agree that the course is about a 6 or 7 out of 10. However, that is a significant improvement over what I had previously experienced months ago. I must say that the tee boxes were good with new markers, but still need a little work. The fairways were well maintained, with good separation between 1st/2nd cuts of rough. I was impressed with the condition of the sand traps which were being completely renovated the last time I had played at Metrowest. Finally, the greens were in very good shape and the day’s pin placement played quite challenging. I can say the Metrowest grounds staff have done an all around good job. Also, commend the improved signage on the course. The only outstanding problem is the construction that still exists on the 18th hole.
In summary, I can say that I have seen marked improvement at Metrowest. The course is still a challenging course to play. With their continued focus on providing an improving venue for golf and if they can deliver at a reasonable price, I will return again and would recommend others to give it a try.
Great course
This is a great course. The fairways are pretty open and forgiving. The greens weren’t too bad at all. Overall great course.
Wide open course
Course is a little rough in the fairways but dries quickly after some rain earlier oil week.
Almost no OB as course has wide open fairways, Greens putted fairly true
Steady progress
I have been playing here since it opened. I am very happy to see the steady progress like a phoenix’s rise.
I look forward to enjoying the refurbished course as I watch it blossom into its true self.
Great staff and leadership is making the right calls.
Pleasantly surprised
haven't played here in 15+ years, and heard it had gone downhill in that time. Compared to most of the other courses out there right now, it was in nice shape. Yes, there were some dead spots on the fairways and teeboxes, but not a big deal. Most of it was just fine. Greens a little bumpy since it appeared to have been aerated a couple weeks back. Layout and views are awesome. For $45, hard to beat for a course that's not far away. We'll play again and again at this rate and this condition.
Great course layout, condition improving
I’ve played this course for over 30 years off and on, and the course layout is great. Condition is probably better than average these days, and improvements are under way. Great value for the money.
It was ok…
My review? I give it a solid Meh. Not in great shape. For the $$ I would like better conditions.
Needs TLC
The course is a nice layout, but needs a lot of work to bring it back to where it can be. Facilities have good bones and are in terrible disrepair. I used to play this course in the mid-eighties and early nineties and it was awesome, well maintained and a premier facility. Ready for a new Owner and investment.
Terrible course ranger
Paid for holes 1-18, after we completed the first 9 the golf ranger told us we had two options. 1. Wait 45 minutes at the club house for the groups behind us to pass us or 2. Repeat the front 9.
I said no, we paid for holes 1-18 and I want to play the back 9. I told the ranger I’ll skip a hole but not repeating front 9. He said no and those were our only options.
I get that we’re novice and we’re reasonable with letting people play ahead of us, but to be completely halted was completely ridiculous.
Punched greens, above avg green fees, and 30+ min behind pace
Title says it all.
This course is normally $20-45, yet they’re charging $60 (which doesn’t come with range balls) and it’s an absolute cow pasture. Punched greens they don’t tell you about, highly overgrown greens as well, tee boxes are a nightmare with sand and holes everywhere. Fairways have seen much better days, and the rough is overgrown.
No water on the course, but of course you can buy some!
Starter is like 90yrs old and not a nice person.
Why would I come back?
