MetroWest Golf Club
About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

Punched greens, above avg green fees, and 30+ min behind pace
Title says it all.
This course is normally $20-45, yet they’re charging $60 (which doesn’t come with range balls) and it’s an absolute cow pasture. Punched greens they don’t tell you about, highly overgrown greens as well, tee boxes are a nightmare with sand and holes everywhere. Fairways have seen much better days, and the rough is overgrown.
No water on the course, but of course you can buy some!
Starter is like 90yrs old and not a nice person.
Why would I come back?
Great Layout
I have played this course many times and really enjoy it. When I booked I knew that the greens had recently been aerated however they were in reasonable condition without any bare spots. I read a few reviews that complained about the fairways and tee boxes being worn and while they weren’t perfect the fairways were on good condition. This is a fun and challenging course and if you haven’t played it you should give it a try.
Very Pleasant Course, Wide Open
Some courses I play seem claustrophobic, some holes very narrow and virtually no room for error. I hadn't played Metro West in 30 years and I'd forgotten how wide open it was. This is not to say it wasn't challenging, but it felt wide open compared to others. The only negative was that the greens had been aerated about 1 week earlier so putting was not a normal situation. Pace of play was excellent and there was a cart girl making the rounds, something I had not seen for some time at other courses. The fairways were good, though it appears that the grass has been infiltrated by weedy growth in some areas but there were no outstandingly bare areas as there are at some area courses. I found that the John Daly plaque that commemorated his driving the 18th green once upon a time has been removed due to vandalism, disappointing as I cannot envision anyone being so evil as to desecrate this course. The restaurant was a nice place to have lunch after the round and, all things considered, it was a pleasant way to spend Labor Day. I plan to play it again if I can find a Hot Deal. I recommend this course.
The greens were great but the front nine tee boxes were in rough condition and ran into really slow play on the 11th but the course was quite nice
Great Layout, aeration in progress
Played on September 2, after course aeration. Great layout and in good condition even with the greens in recovery.
Very welconing
From bag drop off to cart drop off, the staff was very friendly, courteous and eager to help.
Some of the fairways were a little brown/dry, but not unexpected considering the florida summer sun.
Overall a very good afternoon of golf and I look forward to playing the course again.
Top much money for too little quality
I booked and paid my greenfee online which was $45. When I got there they told me to pay another $50 because the greenfee online wasn’t everything. I had a great time playing with two guys I met but I feel so robbed by the club itself that I don’t recommand anyone to go there. The course itself wasn’t worth $95, only the greens where good.
Get what you pay for.
I don’t know about you but I don’t enjoy the greens being mowed at…11am in the middle of a round?
I've been playing golf for over 20 years and I've never seen them cutting greens during playing time.... ????
Golf is great
Greens and sand traps were excellent. Fairways and tees no so much.
Great location and very will course.
Very relaxing and challenger course. His carts are ok, and the restaurant is good. Personal is very kind…very recomendable.
Back from the dead
I loved MetroWest when I first played it. The layout is challenging, but not extreme. Then it fell on hard times.
Now the greens are excellent, tee boxes are not so good, and fairways are almost there. The occasional bad lie can be fixed with winter rules. One appearance factor that makes things look really bad when they're actually not is the presence of tall weeds scattered through the fairways and green surrounds. They are major league ugly, but in fact have little effect on play. A bit of spot roundup will make things look a lot better.
Fairway condition’s disappointing
Played Metrowest earlier in the year and was impressed by the vast improvement in course conditions. This visit was disappointing as most fairways have lots of dirt patches and weeds. The roughs are mostly weeds and tall grass. Tee boxes and greens were ok. I’ll wait to play again when I hear fairway conditions are getting better.
