Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club is situated in Calabash, N.C. a scenic fishing village. The mature woodland landscape provides a secluded and relaxing setting that is ideal for a round of golf. Though it may be peaceful, you still have to be on your toes with plenty of water hazards and sand traps lurking throughout this traditional layout. Mature trees line the fairways, requiring even further accuracy. The golf course is known for its natural crater lakes, which make an appearance on several holes. It is a course that rewards strategy and skill over brute strength. The holes will make you think, but overall Carolina Shores is a forgiving golf course that is playable for all skill levels, especially with five sets of tees ranging from 6,085 yards to a lengthy 6,755 yards.

This course was in very bad shape
This course had very little grass on tee boxes fairways and greens.
Most of the greens had several bald spots

unplayable
the course was unplayable. worst conditions ever seen for a golf course. spoke to the guy at the desk and he apologized and said he will agree to give our money back. Only attempted to play one hole

Needs some attention
I am not sure if the course needs more time, for the Bermuda to kick in. The greens are true only two bad ones in my opinion. The pace of play was excellent.

One guy helped the rest didn’t
We came and the starter was unfriendly from the start one guy at the front desk helped me out. No tee box and greens were all sand. Way better places for the money

Unfotunate
It's unfortunate that they have let the course go, they seem to be operating on a shoestring as almost everything needed attention. The staff was very nice and they valued our being there. Maybe the spring will bring more players and more revenue so that things can be improved. I enjoyed the day as we kind of knew going in that it was going to be practice round to loosen up for future rounds during our trip.

Sad Shape
Been coming to Myrtle Beach for 28 years and this course was in the worst shape that I have ever seen a golf course.

Great layout but very bad conditions
I would play this course over and over again, if it was maintained with any effort. The tee boxes were bad, the fairways were rough, most of the sand traps were a rock, and the greens were not playable. Having said that, the layout is fantastic. This course needs a major overhaul, but it could be a great course.

Lacking grass
Course was in average shape, a number of greens and tee boxes lacked grass. One or two of the holes the tee box was mostly sand. The course layout was good, a little tight in some spots but fair.

Not fit to be called a golf course
Sad to say it’s not the golf course I played years ago,nice layout but just weeds for fairways and dirt with sparse grass packed down for greens, the cart paths are fully overgrown by tree roots if you didn’t have a bad back you will after riding on them it was cart paths only when we played but after one hole we we had to disobey the rule or ruin our backs. I feel sorry for the members and I hope they restore the course to it’s former self.
As for “Golf Now” shame on you for making this a hot deal at $60. We came from Ontario Canada so add another $20.to our tab not sure if I will use your services again my trust level went down considerably.

Very disappointed
Played the course many years ago it was a nice condition I enjoyed it this time this time it looks like nobody done anything to it to it fairways were bad greens were bad or bad bunkers were bad very disappointed

Fun course
I enjoyed the round, the greens were better than they looked. Obviously aerated recently. I own a home in Carolina shores, there's so many good golf courses around the area, I don't play Carolina shores often. But it's about $20 cheaper than most of the courses in the area, I think if the course was watered a little bit more, and the greens were kept a little bit nicer, this could be a premier kind of course.

Should be closed - horrible condition
I would be amazed if this place has any repeat customers, Absolutely horrible condition’s, charging me $50 for a round here is crazy. If I could rate at 0 stars that would be an embellishment.

DUMP NOT A GOLF COURSE
The picture and video must be at least 10 years old. The fairways have no grass except crab grass, tee boxes look more like sand traps and the greens have no grass not even grab grass just dirt. This place should be closed with all the nice golf courses in the area.

Overpriced Cow Pasture
This was the worst condition golf course we have ever played. Your greens, fairways and cart paths are desperate for maintenance.

Do not play
This course is in terrible condition, no grass on tees, fairways and greens are unplayable, I don’t understand how they can take your money with a smile on their faces. $60.00 I wouldn’t pay $10.00 Do not play here.
