Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club is situated in Calabash, N.C. a scenic fishing village. The mature woodland landscape provides a secluded and relaxing setting that is ideal for a round of golf. Though it may be peaceful, you still have to be on your toes with plenty of water hazards and sand traps lurking throughout this traditional layout. Mature trees line the fairways, requiring even further accuracy. The golf course is known for its natural crater lakes, which make an appearance on several holes. It is a course that rewards strategy and skill over brute strength. The holes will make you think, but overall Carolina Shores is a forgiving golf course that is playable for all skill levels, especially with five sets of tees ranging from 6,085 yards to a lengthy 6,755 yards.

The course was ok. Was told by front desk first green was poor but better from there. And it was.

Very poor condition
Course looks like they’re getting ready to close it. There is minimal to no maintenance. Fairways are like the rough area and the rough isn’t even attended to.

Ok for the price
Not going to beat this course up. Greens are not good and the paths are rough, but if you want to get out and hit the ball a little, this course is fine. You get what you are willing to pay. Enjoyed a nice round with a visitor from PA.

Course was good except for the greens, but we were warned ahead of time the greens were rough.

WORST COURSE EVER
I and some family were down for vacation and decided to play this course. Man at front desk was very friendly. Man responsible for carts was not. He is the guy wearing earrings. He was very rude and disrespectful to us. Course was in the worst shape I have ever observed out of all the courses I have golfed. I would not recommend this course to anyone! I also told people at our condos in Ocean Isle about this course and advised them to stay away from it due to the unfriendly staff and poor playing conditions that greens keepers should be responsible for.

Very Poorly Maintained
Other than the very friendly staff, the course condition was inexcusably horrible. Fairways were like long rough, tee boxes were not mowed, traps were full of weeds, and their was lettle course maintenance in general.

Don’t waste your time
The worst review you read here isn’t bad enough to explain the conditions here. We left after 4 holes.
Thanks for informing your fellow golfers. It helps a lot. I'm coming down on a trip next week. Any idea of maybe the top 3 courses that are in good shape right now or the worst 3 that are unexpectedly in bad shape right now?

This course saved or day.
After booking a different course and becoming so disappointed with the conditions and walking off after the 4th hole we called Sea Trail from the parking lot and booked a Tee time within an hour and the day was saved. Both courses we’ve played here are in very good shape and the staff is very friendly.

Great Course
Great Local course at the Best Prices . Not far from Little River. Any level Golfer will enjoy this course . Fun for a guys weekend or locals. If your a local stay away from The Valley at Eastport. You may be retired but you will not be happy. Eagles Nest is another great course in Little River .

Wait Until June
This course has been adversely effected by winter and spring rains. The fairways are spotty and not cut. The tee boxes are sometimes non-existent. The greens were just barely starting to grow in. When asked the staff reported that conditions should improve later in the year as the Bermuda grasses grow. The course could be a fun track to play, but needs lots of tlc to improve.
