Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club is situated in Calabash, N.C. a scenic fishing village. The mature woodland landscape provides a secluded and relaxing setting that is ideal for a round of golf. Though it may be peaceful, you still have to be on your toes with plenty of water hazards and sand traps lurking throughout this traditional layout. Mature trees line the fairways, requiring even further accuracy. The golf course is known for its natural crater lakes, which make an appearance on several holes. It is a course that rewards strategy and skill over brute strength. The holes will make you think, but overall Carolina Shores is a forgiving golf course that is playable for all skill levels, especially with five sets of tees ranging from 6,085 yards to a lengthy 6,755 yards.

Great outing with the Mrs.
We went to Myrtle on a whim Friday evening. Hopped on GolfNow Saturday morning to find a shorter course in line with my wife’s ability. The course was in really good shape and the staff were phenomenal!
There are a lot of challenging obstacles and we had a blast. It took us just over 4hrs.

Good Course; Not Perfect
This was a good course to begin our Myrtle Beach area vacation. It allowed us to shake of the cobwebs. Tee area were a little rough; the fairways are very basic. The green were very bumpy and covered with little green patches. Didn't sink many one putts. Will golf here again, as a warm-up course.

Shores
I really enjoy playing this course because as soon as I enter the clubhouse I am treated like family. All the way to the 1st tee its a great feeling. Course is still improving and I look forward to 2022.

Not as bad as most reviews.
Ok for the money. A cheaper priced course so expectations should nit run as high as some other tracks. You kinda get what you pay for Friendly staff. Fairly quick round because of light play.

Enjoyable
My wife and I enjoyed a quiet round with no other golfers pushing us. Sand traps create a good challenge.

Course not up to par.
To be a country club, course was more of a bogey than par. Tee boxes had not been cut and greens were only in OK shape

Course needs a lot of work. Greens are horrible and Fairways and Rough have many weeds and bare spots.

Look elsewhere
Course and greens are terrible. Not worth anything you pay for course. Many other courses in the area for a little more money.

Not worth the effort
Carolina Shores was in deplorable condition. The course has been let go. The rough was US Open bermuda and had not been cut in a long time. The cart paths were impassable with holes, roots, and overgrowth. And the greens were patchy at best, with many bare spots. Use your golf money elsewhere.

Stay away from course
Worst course I have ever played look like it hadn’t been mowed in a week greens were horrible cart trail did not exist. It’s sad To travel 500 miles and pay for something like this.

Stay in the fairway
You must stay in the fairway. It was difficult to get out of the rough. The greens were not in very good shape. They require a level of care that was mot provided. The staff was great. But that did not overcome the deficiencies.

avoid this place
The course is in terrible condition. If you play here for free you are being overcharged and due a refund. The only "maintenance " being done is the mower cutting the fairway weeds lower than the first cut and rough weeds. There is no grass; it's 100% weeds, including the tee boxes. You cannot tee your ball up high enough to avoid them, and therefore teeing it up on the par 3s is impossible unless you find a patch where the weeds have died. There is no sand on the carts because filling in your divots would be considered a course renovation. The bunkers are dirt/mud holes. Membership should be ashamed.
