Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club is situated in Calabash, N.C. a scenic fishing village. The mature woodland landscape provides a secluded and relaxing setting that is ideal for a round of golf. Though it may be peaceful, you still have to be on your toes with plenty of water hazards and sand traps lurking throughout this traditional layout. Mature trees line the fairways, requiring even further accuracy. The golf course is known for its natural crater lakes, which make an appearance on several holes. It is a course that rewards strategy and skill over brute strength. The holes will make you think, but overall Carolina Shores is a forgiving golf course that is playable for all skill levels, especially with five sets of tees ranging from 6,085 yards to a lengthy 6,755 yards.

A cow pasture
Worst fairways - mud and crabgrass- worst greens - mostly sand- I have EVER seen in 50 years. Would not play again if they paid me.

Not so hot
hate to be a downer but this course was awful.........greens were horrible and the fairways not much better.......was an iffy day for the weather and we got 15 holes in before some rain hit us........so for the price itwas not a disaster and we had the course allllllll to our self as we did not see anyone till the end.......not worth it if you are a good golfer but bcause it was cheap and quick it was still ok

Worst course in NC
I have played this course several times; unfortunately this place seems to be deteriorating rapidly. Fairways are like a cow pasture, bunkers are mud, tee boxes are terrible, and greens are are great for feeding rabbits NOT putting. In addition drainage on the course doesn't exist. I asked the front desk about course conditions and was told course was in good condition, greens were a little slow Ha Ha

If only they did some maintenance....
Tee boxes were poor, fariways were a cow pasture, greens burnt and slow.. the only redeeming qualities is the pace of play, (very limited amount of players there) and the layout is actually beautiful. Unfortunately other than one guy cutting grass, there is little to no maintenance done. This at one time was a beauty, but no more.

Don’t waste your money
This is the worst course conditions I’ve ever play. The only reason pace of play was a 5 was because there was no else playing in front or behind us. Tee boxes were terrible. You couldn’t tell the difference between the fairway and ruff greens were terrible. The course is a great layout but that can’t makeup for the conditions.

It rained on us
By the time we finished 6 holes it started to rain! We stopped after 9 and they gave us a rain check! The people were super nice!
The course could use some work but it has a great layout and really nice carts!

Good Value
Caught a Hot Deal and played early as a single. Check in was very friendly and helpful. Four or five groups waved me right through. While the course is a little rough around the edges compared to some others in Myrtle Beach it was well worth it.

Need work
Good value for the money. But it needs work. Fairways needs improvements. Very slow greens will add 5 strokes to you score

OK for Beginners
Not the typical Beach area course, more like the cheaper course at home.....great for beginners, but if you play much at the beach you will be disappointed...course is like backyard grass on the fairways and greens are in rough condition......Staff is friendly and great

Decent course
Old style course. Moderately difficult. Staff was very friendly. I understand course had been through times. Conditions were not great, but I have seen worse. It's not a high end course, but with a little more TLC, it could be an enjoyable place to play.

Poor drainage, greens in poor condition, and mosquitoes were aggressive.

Great Senior tee boxes
While the greens were in poor condition from bad weather. overall the course itself was not bad,
Also as senior players we appreciated tee placement that allowed us to enjoy a playable length for our abilities

Worth the price
I played 18 with 2 of my boys. I am an okay golfer and my sons are relatively new to the game. The personnel could not have been more friendly. The course was a bit rough. Everything needs some work. For a golfer looking to hit the ball for great price, this is the course for you. If you are looking for the manicured course, you may want to find another course. We had fun playing today.

Needs TLC
Great layout, but needs a lot of TLC.
No such thing as fairways, bunkers are grass and water, balls are buried -and rough greens.
Would love to play after a make over.
