Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club is situated in Calabash, N.C. a scenic fishing village. The mature woodland landscape provides a secluded and relaxing setting that is ideal for a round of golf. Though it may be peaceful, you still have to be on your toes with plenty of water hazards and sand traps lurking throughout this traditional layout. Mature trees line the fairways, requiring even further accuracy. The golf course is known for its natural crater lakes, which make an appearance on several holes. It is a course that rewards strategy and skill over brute strength. The holes will make you think, but overall Carolina Shores is a forgiving golf course that is playable for all skill levels, especially with five sets of tees ranging from 6,085 yards to a lengthy 6,755 yards.

Nice day at the golf course
Staff was very helpful and nice. Cart paths were bumpy but overall really enjoyed the experience.

Never Again even for free
Booked for a practice round Mar. 2. The course was over saturated due to all the rain. So Cart Paths only. But this course should have been closed for being unplayable. Bunkers were lakes, fairways were swamps. They’re sending lots of groups out (because it’s cheap) and to take the money.
Next, this course should be closed. Worst condition course I’ve played in 20 + years. Bulldozed for houses or something. Fairway are full of weeds, the greens are yellow. Cart paths are breaking apart. I walked off after a few holes. I actually drop to another course close by to make sure I wasn’t seeing the norm for this time of year. Other course in Calabash was in excellent condition. Give it up and close, please.

The course was really wet which we understand with all the rain they had. Would be awesome if it was dry.

Feb 10th 2020 Review
Was disappointed. Its a shame. The course has good bones, the staff was very friendly and accomodating, but its obvious there is no money or effort going into the course for maintenance or upkeep.

Course continues to improve
This course is fun to play. The layout is very good for the average golfer and the prices are very reasonable. It has had maintenance problems in the past but the current management seems to work on improving all areas of the course. Friendly staff and good food at reasonable prices. The course still doesn’t handle rain well but is a pleasure to play in decent weather. I will continue to play here

Not so bad
Read the reviews, but had to try it. Course certainly not in the areas top 10, there are a few issues that couldn't be resolved with a little expense. A fun layout for all levels of golfers. If you're novice to intermediate golfer, try it, you might be surprised. Glad we tried it.

Carolina Shores could be a much better golf course with some additional maintenance. The fairways were acceptable but tees were devoid of grass in many cases and greens were sparse. Putting was difficult due to the bumpy green conditions. We were restricted to cart paths because of damp fairways; however, the cart paths were very rough and poorly maintained. Pace of play was excellent only because there were so few players on the course.

Great Value
I played Carolina Shores on a golf trip with some friends. I found it to be an excellent Value with a great staff. The layout was fair and the greens were decent. I would recommend this course to anyone that is looking for value without sacrificing play. Great staff very nice and welcoming.
Had a tremendous amount of rain a day or two before we played so the course had standing water everywhere. Got no ball roll so made course plans long. Good layout and very friendly staff made the experience very good.

Purchased hot deal only 15 golfers all day
Tee blocks were barren
Fairways were thin and weedy
Greens had significant bare patches
Cart paths were horrible
Obviously pace of play was great no one there!

Very disappointing
I should have paid heed from previous reviews. Course was in terrible shape. Weeds growing all over, cart path in total disrepair, greens were awful. Maybe for $10 a round for a beginner golfer is about right, but certainly should be avoided at all cost given the price and conditioning. It's sad, really, because the layout was kind of interesting.

Course in need of maintenance
Not worth $35 GolfNow Hot deal. Would not play for $10. Staff seem very accommodating and friendly; however they are either clueless about running a quality golf course or great con men/women. Stay away.

An old dog
This is a classic example of deferring maintenance. Weeds on the greens and in the mud bunkers. I am embarrassed to say I played there
