Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club is situated in Calabash, N.C. a scenic fishing village. The mature woodland landscape provides a secluded and relaxing setting that is ideal for a round of golf. Though it may be peaceful, you still have to be on your toes with plenty of water hazards and sand traps lurking throughout this traditional layout. Mature trees line the fairways, requiring even further accuracy. The golf course is known for its natural crater lakes, which make an appearance on several holes. It is a course that rewards strategy and skill over brute strength. The holes will make you think, but overall Carolina Shores is a forgiving golf course that is playable for all skill levels, especially with five sets of tees ranging from 6,085 yards to a lengthy 6,755 yards.

Poor condition
We were disappointed. It was not in good condition. Hardly any green grass. It was muddy but that was because it rained all night the night before. Greens had sand all over them and not spread out. Some holes there were heavily sanded areas. Won’t play again. Should have asked about course conditions prior to playing

will Play it again when back that way
Older course that was in good condition. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely will play there again when I’m in the Calabash area.

Worse course ever
This was a terrible experience. Should have know it was bad when when we pulled in and there was no one at the course. The staff was very unfriendly. The rough and fairways were the same cut. The greens were fluffy, just a very bad experience.

Good course, but...
This was a nice course but it's in bad shape, especially the greens. Staff was friendly but were backed up on every hole..

Really BAD greens

Terrible experience
Greens were terrible. Fairways not cut. Course wasn't in good condition. Bunkers not taken care of on most holes.

Grass needs cutting lost two balls in fairway. Greens were spotty

Worse than a dog track
Greens were dead and had sand all over them. Tee boxes in terrible condition. If you can spend a few more dollars to play anywhere else I would recommend it. Not worth the cheap price to play at this course.

Unfortunate
Sad this well designed course is in such horrible condition. Greens are unplayable. No fairways to speak of. 80% crabgrass. Course has great potential but apparently there is no $ to fix it up. Not worth $26.00. But we had fun.

Fun course
The course has a fun layout and we enjoyed the round. There were some good challenges but not excessively difficult - a good mix. However, the course is in need of some serious maintenance. The tee boxes are mostly not in good shape, very loose and sandy. The fairways are way too tall - you can literally lose a ball in the middle of the fairway! And the greens are not in good shape or consistent. Some are very hard and fast and dry while others are tall cut and very slow - in the same round! And some greens have dried-out sandy and dirt patches - some with multiple patches.

Worse course on the beach
First and last time at this course. Have played many courses around Myrtle and this was by far the worst. The staff was very unfriendly, there was no fairways, rough and fairways were all one cut. The greens where in bad shape. Sure wish I would have read reviews before I book this course.

The course is a good layout
The course needs a bunch of work. The greens were very bumpy and the bunkers were not playable. The staff was very friendly and the 19th hole was good.

Friendly Home Course Feel
What a great place to relax and have a nice round of golf. You can tell that the staff really care and are putting time and energy into this place. You can tell it is in a bit transition between winter and summer grasses. But still a good course. Give it a go.
