Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club is situated in Calabash, N.C. a scenic fishing village. The mature woodland landscape provides a secluded and relaxing setting that is ideal for a round of golf. Though it may be peaceful, you still have to be on your toes with plenty of water hazards and sand traps lurking throughout this traditional layout. Mature trees line the fairways, requiring even further accuracy. The golf course is known for its natural crater lakes, which make an appearance on several holes. It is a course that rewards strategy and skill over brute strength. The holes will make you think, but overall Carolina Shores is a forgiving golf course that is playable for all skill levels, especially with five sets of tees ranging from 6,085 yards to a lengthy 6,755 yards.

Cart paths impossible to ride on due to roots. No grass in fairways. Bare spots on greens. Course bathrooms need maintenance. Very dissappointed!
Bad
It was the worst course in my area. I play every weekend and have not played on such a course. No tee blocks that were even. Greens were a mess. Fairways could not find your ball to many leafs.

Course not to be play
GN should not do business with that couse. Really bad course condition. Greens are dead. That course give up.

A waste of time and money
Tee box was muddy. Fairways had little grass, mostly weeds. Many greens were either burned out or diseased. Cart quit after several holes. Manager gave us a raincheck after we finished but we never want to play that course again! The manager was very friendly and helpful.

Poorly kept course. Tees and fairways and greens in extremely poor condition. Even the cart paths were hardly visible with palm straw and leaves everywhere. Without a doubt, the worst golf course I've ever played in S. Carolina.

This course needs some help to repair cart paths, greens were worn out. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The surrounding are was beautiful.. Hope to see some improvements

Poorly maintained golf course
The course was in horrible condition. Everything was unmowed, greens were barren of grass such that a ball jumped and could not roll properly. Cart paths are long over due for maintenance. We quit after 9 holes because the conditions were so bad. Build houses on this tract!

Going to Waste
This was at one time and can be again, a beautiful course. Rough was way to tall. Fairways were mown however residual grass left on fairways. Poor hole directions. Rough cart paths. Some greens were ok but most in poor condition. Some bunkers ok, most in poor condition. The guy working the clubhouse is one of the nicest persons you’ll ever meet. He goes out of his way to accommodate you. At one time we were viewing homes for sale on the course. I’m glad that did not work out as I would hate to own a home on this course. At some point in the future, it’s a likely candidate for additional housing.

The course had a really good layout. The condition was horrible. The worst I have ever played in the Myrtle Beach area. Your money would be better spent playing any other course.

poor conditions
just about every green was terrible and most had bare spots. several tee boxes were just as bad. I would not waste time playing this course.. They have not maintain this course at all.. They might be better off closing and selling the course
