Great place to play- Photo submitted by goody39420 on 04/18/2013
Very nice golf course.
The course was beautiful. Due to the unusual amount of rain that we have had this year, the course was very soggy. The setting is beautiful in the rolling foothills, there are lots of wildlife and also some cows on the other side of the fence. The driving range is a little different than most as you hit off of an elevated tee area, then hit into a large hillside. There are no yardage markers on the hill to judge your distance.
The greens are very fast even on uphill putts.
Overall this is a very very nice course and I can't wait to get back when it has dried out.
sloggy
I have played here before and found it to be challenging yet fair. However, today it was sloggy wet. So much so that we lost some ball that plugged in the fairways. Round was long due to conditions and it was well booked. Had a hot dog at the turn but it was not as described by playing partner I had just met that day but it was palatable with cool bun and not too hot hot dog. I can say however that the service at the course from check-in to restaurant was excellent.
Beautifull layout
Always enjoy play'n there
Nice view
Coarse has great views, coarse in great shape with exception of a few greens
Auburn valley gc
Course in great shape it is a must play
Fun to play and well worth the money
First of all the staff was second to none. They give you free range balls and they even offered to give us a ride back to our car after our round. The course was in very good condition and played very fair partly because of the wide fairways. There could have been more sand in the bunkers though. All in all we had a great time and we plan to come back.
Ok golf
Course was fun. Ok layout. Amenities were ok at best.
Played The Tips
So we went to AV to play. On the way there, my friend (3 handicap) suggested we play the tips, so we did.
From the tips AV is a very stiff test. I don't recommend this for higher handicappers, but the point is regardless of your skill level, AV can provide a very challenging day.
Greens are sneaky with more break than than it appears. Second shots from the Black tees are monsters.
First time that I played this course
I have lived in Rocklin for 15 years and this was the first time that I have played this course. Auburn Valley was nice. The course was empty when we pulled in. We had a foursome and we were not waiting on anyone and no one was waiting on us. We played 18 holes in about 4 hours. I thought the course was in good shape and the price was right (not too expensive).
Nice golf course
Nice golf course; wide open fairways with scenic on course and Sierra foothills backdrop. We played in the early afternoon on a warm day and the pace of play was great with fewer golfers due to the hot weather. That said, the course is in nice condition and we are planning to come back again. The pro shop was well stocked. The restaurant was still open for drinks although the kitchen closed at 4pm. Regardless we enjoyed an after round drink and headed off to dinner in nearby Auburn.
Auburn Valley
Course is in beautiful shape. We played on a very hot day and there was plenty of water in the containers on the course. Greens are fast. Excellent day all around
Auburn Valley GC
Friendly staff, great clubhouse, excellent routing through mature tree lined fairways, large bunkers, nice rolling greens & great scenery. There's very good value for your golfing dollar at Auburn Valley GC.

Auburn Valley
Enjoyed the day. Very serene, relaxing, etc. Staff was excellent. Austin and. Ompany in the golf shop and Kimmie in the bar. Thanks for a great day!
Great place to take the grandsons!
I visit the area near Nevada City a couple times a year to see my son's family always try to get in some golf with the grandsons. This trip I got to play Auburn Valley twice, once with each grandson. It's a very nice course and relatively forgiving. The greens are a challenge for me to get up and down, playing a bit faster than then ones I'm used to. The pace of play was execllent, never really had to wait much, but did let one twosome play through so we wouldn't hold them up. The course is in good condition and a good value for the money. They have also just recently added another set of forward tees for junior players, although my grandsons, despite their lack of playing experience didn't feel the need to use them.
Exceptional condition!
This course has it all!! Greens were very fast but in great condition! The counter person Austin, was the nicest guy and I wish every course had a counter person like him!!! The back 9 has the prettiest landscaping! I highly recommend playing here..
Great Course
We played yesterday with a noon tee time. Course was in excellent condition, from fairways to greens. Lush fairways and fast fast greens. We completed our round in 3 hours and 10 minutes!!! Well worth the drive from Lincoln, CA. We will be back.
bad greens
The course itself was just awesome. The greens were fast which I do like but a little chewed up by morons who neglect to fix there ball marks, fixed at least 3-4 per hole. Also too much slope creating extremely difficult putting. But overall very nice track. Will be back, worth the drive from Reno.
beutiful location
loved the course, first timer. nice fairways with good coverage and excellent lies from tee to green. very lush and green, play it in the evening and watch the deer wander around on your closing holes. scenery is fantastic and million dollar homes surround the course. you will not be disappointed if you don't mind a slow round. a lot of novice golfers seem to like this course as well, saw a lot of hackers and families slowing down play. no marshal seen entire round. 5 hour round, 10 to 15 min wait on almost every hole until people just up and left due to slow play, which really helped last few holes. super nice staff
good challenge-blue tees
Good course, tricky greens. Very tough first hole.
