Great place to play- Photo submitted by goody39420 on 04/18/2013
Very pleasant golf course!
Auburn Valley has some wide, forgiving fairways made challenging given the somewhat hilly terrain. The ball rarely ends up on a flat lie. The biggest challenges, though, occur around and on the greens. The greens are fast with plenty of contours that require a player to be cautious in preparing to pitch or in reading a long putt.
The greens were fantastic
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The course was in good shape with the greens being in great shape. Will go back for sure real soon.
always awesome
Auburn Valley was awesome it's always awesome great course to play.
Great Shape and challenging greens
I've played this course a handful of times and enjoy it more and more each time. With gorgeous views of the surrounding hills and foliage, Auburn Valley does an excellent job at blending the course into it's natural environment. Greens are in excellent shape and are sure to challenge your putter as there are many unseen breaks in the green due to the surrounding hills around the golf course. Overall if you can get this course for 35 or under online, book it!
Great course to sharpen your game.
Great shape for Feb. Lot's of maintenance going on, so be tolerant and careful, but that's what winter time is for!
Donna makes a GREAT bloody mary
Golfing in shorts in the middle of February for $23, need I say more?
Like the lay out
I have always liked Auburn Valley. But the course is in poor shape due to deferred maintenance and wildlife damage. Might try again in the summer but currently to depressing to play when it is in such poor shape!
Great course!
First played this course over a decade ago in high school. It left a great impression and I was itching to play it again. And yep, it was just as difficult as it was the first time.
Course was a bit muddy and the greens were a little beat up from the sheer amount of divots, but nothing out of the norm for the time of year. Fairways were great and the bunkers played pretty "fair".
My cart did almost die on the 18th. I kept saying "I think I can, I think I can..." and it made it back to the clubhouse. HA!
The course has fast greens which can be difficult to read.
The GOLFNOW reduced green fee and quality of course made it a can't miss deal.
This course has many beautiful settings!
Played on New Years Day and had a great time.
Course was a little sloppy but considering the amount of rain
we've had in the last 30 days it was not an issue.
Greens were immaculate and true.
Counter guy at pro shop was helpful and courteous and the lady
serving sandwiches at bar area was very friendly and courteous.
Will come back in the Spring when it drys up as we are all from
either Placerville, or El Dorado Hills.
Nice course in the foothills
Challenging course that isn't too difficult. The course has nice elevation changes on quite a few holes and a number of blind tee shots.
Challenging
Had never played this course before, not long but has some difficult holes. The pin placements on this day were difficult but I liked them. Also some of the greens were long but not very wide, made accuracy a necessity. First time around this course you can figure out where to hit the ball for the next round.
The course was well maintained, greens were in great shape and the pace of play was quick (not being pushed) due to not many people out this day. Most people would love this course, out in the country, very quiet and lots of wild life in the evening. I will play this course again.
Busy Friday
The course was in its usual good condition, although wetter than expected 4 days after rain. The time of play was longer than usual and was told that there was a tournament earlier in the day. It is usually less crowded in mid-week.
Hard one fast greens. Great deals in afternoon
Fast greens Lots a roll Great deals in after noon will put this one on my once a month track
the greens are fun
the most fun was trying to read the greens you'd think they break one way. Then they break up hill???
Good Place to play
Nice course, friendly staff, good golf shop. Greens and fairways in good shape.
We really enjoy this course
Tee times are far enough apart that the pace of play is great, not backed up sitting on the group ahead as is so common on other courses. Course is very well maintained. Holes are challenging but fair--greens are most difficult, fast and breaking. We also like that it is a walkable course.
This course has great features
Staff was very friendly and forgiving. I had booked tee time through your site Had the right tee time Wrong day Great course with interesting holes. The rough was rough Greens were in great shape
First time at Auburn Valley-it was fun!
Up hill, down hill and narrow greens made the course fun. Only the group in front of us made for slow play. The over all views and course were great!
